I was going to watch that on Prime last night but they want £20 to buy it, I will wait awhile.

I like a bit of ‘The Stath’ but that’s one stupid looking concept for a movie.

And also far too much given away in the trailer.

Easily the worst of the 3, I am sure it’s part funded by Italian tourist board

    Watched 2 on the bounce

    Evil Dead Rise
Return of the "Classic" as the book of the dead is opened again , really enjoyed this set in an Apartment so claustrophobic the horror set pieces are top notch and the acting is good plenty of money thrown at it

    Nowhere
Woman is set adrift in a Shipping Container after escaping her countries regime which punished Women and Children , obviously far fetched but keeps you watching and again well acted

    Both on Netflix

Saw Equaliser 3 this morning, we were the only 2 in the cinema which I love when it happens.

Really enjoyed it, think it was better than the 2nd but not quite there with the original, as is often the case.

Rewatched all the Hunger Games films over the last few nights given their removal from Netflix at the end of the month.

Watched Die Hart starring Kevin Hart and John Travolta.
Very much tongue in cheek, with a few laughs.
But what got my attention was Mr Hart appeared to be wearing a Patek Philippe Chronograph 5990/A throughout.

Dark Hearts on BBC 4 last night episode 1&2. Maybe a little slow , but some good suspense scenes. Also the actors appear to have been trained in searching / clearing buildings.

Saw Equalizer 3 last night. Complete disaster of a script, but it had enough hard boiled vengeance to make it satisfying.

I enjoyed it from the sheer brutality at times.

Certainly won’t go down in the cinema greats, but good fun to watch, bit like Maverick!

Possibly both Shane Meadows and Paddy Considine’s finest moments in film for me.

Killers of the Flower Moon. Di Nero, Di Caprio, and Lilly Gladstone in Scorsese’s film.
Over 3 hours of great performances and a compelling storyline.

The Royal Hotel...the Mrs. and I were VERY UNIMPRESSED, despite Rotten Tomatoes 96% rating.

I’ve been wanting to watch it for ages but it wasn’t available on any streaming services.

Then noticed it popped up on Amazon so bought it on Tuesday night.

Brilliant film and well worth the purchase.

I heartily recommend a 2010 New Zealand film called Boy. An amusing and evocative account of growing up in the early 80s and, whilst it might be set on the other side of the world, will probably resonate with some here.

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1560139/

It's in English but one might need subtitles.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Tyrannosaur. Relentlessly bleak, so not for those looking for something easy to watch. But very powerful with brilliant performances.

Absolutely and nothing wrong with a bit of genteel crime comedy caper!

Just doesn’t feel like a show that would have the tension, excitement, drama or character development that would warrant a binge!

Just re-watched 'Tenet'. Most enjoyable. I still don't have a full handle on the plot yet, but I'm getting there slowly. Loads of 'how the hell did they do that?' moments. As well as plenty of 'my head hurts' bits.

Anyone watched any good movies recently?

The Killer on Netflix with Michael Fassbender was excellent, NSFW though

Watched Oppenheimer very long and convoluted in parts, couldn’t make my mind up if he was seen as a great Physicist or womanising scapegoat

Interesting how people can view the same thing/ film differently...Me and the Mrs sat down to watch Fassbender's actioner last night, we both found it quite boring, emotionally unengaging...Tilda Swinton was the best thing in it.

I aso watched Killer last night Found it very tedious especially the Soundtrack and repeated narration No idea how it got an 85% rating on RT

  38. #7838
...... just watched 'the killer' , totally bland and forgetful all round 2/10 ( the 2 is for the smiths soundtrack)

She's sort of right. I enjoyed it but it's brain-out nonsense, way removed from the sophisticated thriller it wants to be.

I cannot work out if this was the film advertised at the cinema recently. Was definitely a Netflix film but was confused as to why advertise at the cinema for home streaming.

Not actually got far enough into the film to recognise or trigger my memory. So far he’s just in a room with a monologue going on.

The killer was an odd one. 70’s reminiscent but had those awful contemporary graphics that kept popping up on the screen, or should I say swooping across. More like a YouTube video than a cinema experience.

As a smiths fan, I’d have rather Fincher omitted the vast majority of Fassbender’s internal monologue and just played the bloody music. Show don’t tell, David!

I enjoy a good revenge mission, though, and it was better than the last John Wick instalment.

Old Boy has to be one of the finest revenge movies ever made.

You’ll have to adjust your tastes somewhat but as an entire piece of cinema it’s brilliant.

As is Dead Man’s Shoes has already been mentioned above.

Talking of revenge films, A Bad Day For The Cut and You Were Never Really Here are both worth a watch.

Talking of revenge films, I finally got around to getting the DVD (remember them) of Dead Mans Shoes from ebay for £3. Superb film firmly in the Shane Meadows mould but far away from anyone elses. Even better on the second watch
