Heads up to any Deep Purple fans. Tickets for their 2013 tour go on pre-sale today and on general sale on Friday. I just got mine today for the Roundhouse in London.

I saw Deep Purple back in the early 90s, and I thought that was going to be the last chance. It's 2013 and they're still going strong. Amazing!

Just a minute, I don't remember any Roddy, there was Tomsk, Orinoko, Tobermory and Great Uncle Bulgaria. This Roddy fellow must be an imposter.

    Is nothing sacred??

There's an excellent Springsteen tribute band called Glory Days playing locally in May, so I'm going to see them, followed by the real thing at Wembley in June.

Can you spot a theme developing?

    Polica at Shepherd's Bush O2 - tonight! :)

Another Father and Daughter bonding experience - my 20 year old usually ends up coming to gigs with me (as long as I pay... sigh...)

Jims back touring with Pennywise, can't wait till they announce uk dates, sneaky suspicion that they'll play reading festival :). Bad Religion just booked up for August, anti flag next month, sonic boom six next month too and download festival and maiden, with clutch to follow in July.

    Steve Hackett @ the Sage

Went to see Steve Hackett last night to see his band perform Genesis Revisited 2.Fantastic night, Hackett's performance was sublime, as was the rest of the band. Lighting was amazing, as were the acoustics. Liz, who's not really a fan said she was enthralled.

Bryn Terfel recital. Last autumn I saw him sing Wotan in The Ring. I also listened to a CD of his, An die Musik - Favorite Schubert Songs, when planning a funeral last weekend. Spectacular voice.

    Best wishes,

just got back from Eric Clapton. It was awesome.

by the way, he had Rolex, could not quite see the model, my guess - GMT master, because of polished bracelet center links.

Time flies! The last on my list, the stone roses gig, was last night. Good gig, but I've never seen so many people and particularly women piss and take craps in public. What the hell was that about??

The best of 2013 for me so far was Suede. What a great gig that was. Closely followed by Knopfler.

Next ones up for the rest of the year are:

    Blondie
    Paul Weller
    Burt Bacharach
    Mike Stern
    Steve Winwood
    Lucky Peterson
    ZZ Top (maybe)
    Carlos Santana (maybe)
    Fleetwood Mac
    Roger Waters
    Deep Purple
    Stereophonics

I'm off to see Mumford and Sons on Saturday at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park - its a day long event with other bands playing too, so, if we get some decent weather, should be a great day.
