Well that was absolutely amazing. Rammstein have really polished their performance and turned it right up.
@ Raffe - prepare yourself, it is something else.
Only 2 weeks until we see them again!

A little bit of a round up.

Bryan Ferry last Monday - The support act were not up to scratch, almost fell asleep. Bryan on the other hand opened with an impactful and edgy track. Some good stuff followed and then the Roxy Music material .... booom! Absolutely brilliant. Bryan is 73 years old OMG he is still a talent, and what a super band. Rousing performances and music.

Night before last, Laura Muvula - great performer and an engaging person, just not my kind of music. Great performance from her and her band.

Then Miss Lauryn Hill... Oh dear. Just read some of the things said about her online. I have nothing to add. A disappointment.

Last night White Lies - I don't really know their material, but what a super bunch of young musicians - great performance and very engaging.

Then Tears for Fears. Mate of mine saw them earlier in the year and he said that he thought that if anything they were even better than back in 'their' day. Well, I've not seen them before but they were superb. Talented, entertaining, engaging - brilliant. And their tracks are classic. Row B - right in front of the bass speakers... moves your clothes.

Tonight Sophie Ellis-Bexter followed by Kylie. Never in my life did I ever think I would be going to a Kylie concert..... I'm expecting an interesting and diverse audience.

Just listened to an interview with the local organizer on the radio, he says Rammstein are coming with 86 trucks full of equipment....

This article touches on some of her traits https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.the...hill-disappear

There appeared to be some sounds issues (I pity her crew) and no engagement with audience. Preached stuff about world peace, but actions were nof consistent.

Kylie and Sophie last night were both great performances. A cheese fest of the first order, and not really my kind of thing, but both brilliant entertainers and very engaging with the audience.

Rammstein in Milton Keynes for me tonight.
Bit gutted though, I tried for tickets in Berlin for the 2020 dates and failed. Last time I had all of my work department helping me but yesterday only two of us had opportunity to try to buy tickets.

Just got back from Hall & Oates. No new album to peddle apparently, just an hour and a half of best of the back catalogue. Daryl Hall is 72 but still has a fine set of lungs. And 40 years on 'Rich Girl', 'She's Gone' and 'You Make My Dreams' are still incredibly well-crafted pop songs.

I went to see 'This is the Kit' in Guildford last weekend, which was the second time I've seen them this year. They were superb but last night I saw EELS in Southampton and WOW........ They were incredible..... They're on their UK now and if you get the chance to see them I can't speak highly enough...

Out of interest, if you're looking for something new, the EELS support act was a guy called 'Robert Ellis' ..... a Texan singer songwriter who was very interesting.... Musically very talented, I had a chat with him and bought a couple of albums that will make up a bulk of this morning's listening....

Sziget was as fantastic as ever, a full week of music, comedy, performance art, good natured banter and cheap booze. Way too many bands to list them all but highlights included Frank Turner, Razorlight, Franz Ferdinand, Richard Ashcroft, The National, Besh o droM, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Florence and the Machine, IDLES and Foo Fighters. IDLES were just brilliantly mental, and FF performed almost three hours to the background of a rainless lightning storm - at one point they turned the stage illumination off to allow nature to be the light show.

I'm taking our eldest to see The Darkness in Ipswich later today. Not really my cup of tea but she seems keen for some reason.
