Thread: Suggestions for my SKX007.

    Suggestions for my SKX007.

As the title suggests, I'm looking for alternative strap suggestions for my Seiko SKX007. The OE rubber is slightly uncomfortable, and a bit of a crud-magnet.

I'm a complete noob, and I've never changed the strap on a watch before.

I'm very open minded, so I'll consider NATO, rubber, or mesh type bracelets, but I don't want to put it on leather or an oyster.

So far possible options I've decided on are the Hirsch Extreme in coastguard orange for a sporty look:

and one of Timefactors Rhino NATOs, probably the one with the rhino on the side rather than the plain one.

I'd be particularly interested in suggestions for where to get shark mesh straps, and good quality thick NATOs with interesting stripey patterns.

Also, probably a stupid question, but will any strap fit on a Seiko, or does it have to be something specific? I've read mentions of their fat spring bars.

    Thanks in advance!

I think it'd look good on a shark mesh too.

I'm finding some on ebay, but I'm not totally certain what I'm looking for.

Are they much of a muchness in quality? If not who sells the good ones?

The ones that don't have removable links you have to cut to resize I think. How easy is this? What tools would I need?

Sorry to have to ask what are probably quite stupid questions.

    Those are actually very nice.

    I wasn't considering leather, but that's definitely a possibility.

I think 007 is metal bracelet, but you can try some leather strap.

A nicely judged complementary NATO (on a SKX009, but you get the idea):

    Wot he said.

Just swapped my black nato for a sand one, can't believe the difference in the look (Steinhart OVM)
