Maybe not as bad as those in the first link, but 'Pet Sounds' by The Beach Boys is worth inclusion as it's possibly the best album created with regards pop / rock music (well, in my opinion), but has a truly terrible front cover.
Surprised there isn't a single Manowar album cover in there!

That one of Country Church - I saw that a few years ago and liked it so much I made a t-shirt with that image on :lol: In fact, I found about half a dozen similarly dodgy album covers and made T-shirts from them all.

On a slightly different note, i can remember a few good ones from my dads collection growing up. An ELO one of a space ship and an elton John one that was like a bad acid trip.
The ELO album opened up to show the interior of the space ship.
Elton Johns captain fantastic
Looks as though Elton had a glimpse of his future excesses. The cover seems positively modest in retrospect
