No
Doesn't Eddie Jordan wear one. They are OK for a fashion watch i suppose but not really my thing.
IMHO they are a hype. Jumping on the U-Boat train that is now 20 years old. They seem to be doing ok though if their advertising campaign is anything to go by. The first ones had Chinese movements. I believe some of the later ones have ETA movements although I'm not 100% sure.
it's dutch (like me) so i know them for a while.
my wife has three of them (quartz) ... never problems.
think good watch for the money.
now they get a little more serious with some automatic movement models but pretty expensive too 1000 euro i believe.
i would buy something else for that money
Ugly oversized crap.
Not worth the money, there are much better deals.
I had one and its quality was OK. I sold it a few years ago and know the watch is still running to this day. Excellent watch for the money, if you like the style.
I'll break ranks here - I've had a quartz 50mm canteen style I picked up for £130 on Ebay (I know, I know ... Ebay, TW Steel, quartz, PayPal, fecking massive case with tiny movement etc ... could it get any worse :D ) but it was a great watch. It told me the time accurately and looked nice on the wrist and came in a decent box and was well put together for the price - it's what I expected and wanted and on that level it delivered.
Is it a WIS watch, well no, but if you like the style and go in knowing it's a bottom end fashion watch then why not.
I have the Dario Frachitti LE hes a Daytona driver.Originally Posted by SPEEDY

I've got one... Renault F1 pilot model... quartz, non-chrono. I got the smaller case size, rather than the full frying pan effect.
Was an impulse buy in duty free wiating for a delayed flight. It's actually a pretty solid watch & the packaging is decent. As has been said, won't win any credibility points but I couldn't care. I tend to use it for setting my auto's... but also have used it when I know I've been going to get hammered on a night out, or for activities where I think I may encounter some bumps (I ruined a Seiko auto with the impact of a crash at karting).
The wife also has a gold coloured chrono whish she likes for summer.
They're a fashion watch. If your friend likes the style and is looking to collect watches associated with F1 then he probably won't be disappointed.
Not one to buy for heritage, movement or residual values though.
