I've seen them go for between £1,200 - £1,500 on SC (IIRC); and I think you're probably looking at £1,700 and upwards from a dealer.
Hello everyone from a newbie.just a quick question- from i first started getting into watches i,ve lusted after a speedy pro .Other watches have come and gone, but lately i cant stop thinking about the speedy!could someone give me an idea what kind of money a nice clean pre loved one would go for?Doesnt have to have box and papers as it would be a keeper.thanks

I was lucky to recieve one at Chrsitmas, and I really love it. I find now I spent too much money on watches.
You called :D
Welcome to TZ Chap
A Speedy is a great choice too...
$2400 (1500 pounds) would be average price for Speedy Pro on ok condition,80' or 90' (but I personally prefer them from space flight era)...
But Speedy is great choice...
Hehehehe - better check who's calling before you surrender, Speedy :DOriginally Posted by SPEEDY
I recon you can get a Speedy for 1.200 upwards depending on vintage... A lot of the forum members here are in love with the vintage speedys e.g. pre-moon and it is a great watch and a great choice - regardless of whether you choose are new, fairly new, or an oldie...
Good luck with the chase !
Does it have to be an original speedy pro? The mkII is a great entry level model and can be had with no B&P for under a grand with a bit of patience.
Otherwise, to risk repetition, £1200 for one needing some tidying to £1700 for a spotless one I'd say.
they are much less here in the US of A.
An excellent example can be had here for about $1500US.
I think that's because they are so abundant here.
What I will say is get a Speedmaster Pro. The real one with the Hesalite crystal.
It is an iconic watch, and prices will keep rising. I would suggest to NOT
accept a variation.
One from the 70s or 80s with an 861 movement
will last you forever.
If you are lucky enough to find a pre-moon with a 321 movement
It will cost more, but will increase in value quicker.
Good luck… Joel M
welcome .
hope you find what you are looking for .

The Speedy pro will be a very good choice.
Here's mine.
It's the watch I always wanted to own, and now I do.. and I love it. Well, I'll love it even more when it comes back from being serviced and refurbished :)
I don't know if it's just coincidence but there seem to be a HELL of a lot of threads about them since I signed up on here. I'm hoping that mine will go up in value over the coming years but I doubt I'll ever sell it.
Great choice, I bought mine here in the Sales Corner last summer.
And just started looking for one for my brother's graduation present....
Welcome, and excellent, classy choice!
Take some time to look at Watch Fair's, if you have a chance. I picked up my 1970 Pro for £1000 at the Peterborough Antiques Fair a few years back (should have been there today, but had a foot op yesterday which has restricted my freedom somewhat), and I bought my Mk2 for £700 from the Birmingham watch fair a couple of months back.
Both in excellent condition, the Pro even came with a (non-original) Omega box.
Buy carefully and you won't be disappointed, IMHO

If your're buying one from the last ten years I would definitely aim to get box and papers. Maybe a quarter of one percent of 1960s Speedys come with some kind of papers but more often than not more recent models will come with papers - pick one that does, its worth it.
Thanks for all your replies folks. But would have to be a speedmaster pro , totally iconic and a thing of beauty!grrrrrrr cant wait !
I got offered a few Speedy Pros after posting a WTB recently, ended up with a 2003 sapphire sandwich full set for £1500.
Great watch.
