Personally the Zenith Defy range was a big for me. Also I never warmed to the Breitling for Bentley range either.
While there are many watches that we like there are many more out there that we hate! So tell me about those that are not loved or neglected. :?:

im not a fan of omega watches never appealed to me
Rolex Explorer 2. Not a Rolex fan anyway, but this one is hideous. Looks like something from Argos. Also the Omega Seamaster GMT bezel is nasty, as are most of the Breitling for Bentleys. Worst of the lot though is the Tag Heuer Silverstone.
anything by graham, would't wear one if it was given to me free( are the refs in the 6 nations given free graham watches)
Watches i don't like, well there are some brands that don't do a lot for me but occasionally bring out one i do like but generally these ones leave me pretty cold.
Bell & Ross
Bulgari
Corum
Ebel
Hublot
Ikepod
Junghans
Mido
Movado
Rado
Urwerk
Almost anything made by Rolex.
I know it's a stupid prejudice and I am probably wrong, but it's a mixture of the belief that most of the value is in the case and not the movement - and I prefer it the other way round and the huge number Rolex watches worn by people that I wouldn't like to be considered to be like!
It sounds a bit snobby - I'm sorry for that - it's not intended to be, but there are so many wide-boy types wearing real or fake Rolexes (Rolii?) that until I start wearing a camel hair coat and driving a 911 with a private plate - with black screws in it to try and make it say something it doesn't, I don't think that I would suit a Rolex!
Are Rolex movements no good then? :)Originally Posted by simes

Really not fond of:
Rolex Skydweller, modern Rolex Daytona (especially that one encrusted with rainbow crystals at Basel), B&R Space 1, 2 and 3 which never went anywhere near, Bell and Ross mock instrument panel watches, the Omega Constellation, Lumtec watches, Hublot Big Bang, Hublot Red Devil Big Bang, Hublot Key of Time, actually anything by Hublot, Richard Mille Felipe Massa, any U-boat watch, any TW Steel watch, any Ice Watch, Patek Philippe Nautilus (next generation are better off without it in my view), TAG Heuer F1, Breitling Colt, Breitling Avenger, Breitling Super Avenger, Breitling Super-duper Avenger, the Breitling with the radio beacon, in fact most Breitlings especially those with silly bezels (except the Navitimer and Superocean which I rather like), anything with a compass on the bezel (come on what's that all about, if you want to know the way get a compass and a map they do the job a lot better), Doxas with eensy-weensy hour hands, AP ROO, anything strapped onto Leonardo di Caprio or Tom Cruise or Tiger Woods or Nicole Kidman or Bear Grylls, excessive and uneccessary Blancpain variations on the fifty fathoms, Bremont Trafalgar, Bremont P-51 or any Bremont with novelty detritus built into the watch case or face or whatever...
...um I think that's it for the moment, no wait did I mention the Explorer 2?
I guess this gets me a trip to the forum of the banned without passing Go.
I'll get me coat.
Oh Andrew, I seem to recall that we have been here before... :hello2:Originally Posted by andrew

No - fair point - and I think Rolex movements are OK (aren't they?) I've just always had the feeling that the majority of buyers don't buy them because they like watches, and the marvellous intricacies that make them tick - they just feel they should have a Rolex!
I'll get my coat.... It's the camel hair one in the corner....
Those square bell and Ross things
Breitbling
New fat Rolex cases
Graham
U boat
Bremont
Limited edition speedies
Fakes
Zenith Defy range (just been sick in own mouth!)
Raymond Weil
I could go on but there are lots of others I love :-)
I used to dislike the Rado ceramic range, but have had a change of heart recently.....
Every Rolex bar the Sub - dull as dishwater
Most watches are interesting but luckily I don't have the budget or wife to allow me to try most watches. There are features I don't like, though:
Mercedes hands
Integrated bracelets or non-standard strap fittings.
Polished bracelets
Excessive non-time related dial text
The use of Helvetica (or even Arial) for numerals
Date displays.
Plain white dials.
Most chrongraphs (the non-moving second hand un-nerves me)
Tag indy 500...
The first version...
What a POS So so tacky , cracker prize imho
Anything by Christopher Ward and quite a few others.
The 80's Omega Dynamics - just awful and I truly dislike them.
Most Omega Speedmasters
Rolex GMT II 16710
Most Breitling Chronos
Most Raymond Weil
To be honest, there are just so/too many.
It's just a matter of time...
U-Boat & Romain Jerome.
That’s about it!
R
Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
Anything with a scene painted on the dial or diamond encrusted.
Anything blingy, or cluttered with too many dials. One is enough imo.
Sunburst dials that render the dial virtually unreadable. Both PP and Rolex have been guilty in the past.
Easy: every Cartier. (And I'm not alone: when did you see a 'nice' Cartier for sale on the SC?)
Menno
Bling, bling & bling!
“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
For me it's Rolex. They just don't do it for me.
Almost all Chopard
Omega Constellation
Raymond Weil
Graham
Grand Seiko (they should be a grand)
Sinn
Probably others if i really think about it.
Grand Seiko, Tag.... anything they make. Those non brands that you see in some jewellers... you know the ones that are made by the jeweller [dreyfuss and co?]
G shocks... whats the point? you look 12 years old.
Bling For Bentley
....edit and AP Royal Oaks and Hublot, Corum (except Golden Bridge) Richard Mille
Never understood the APRO... Sorry !!!
In no particular order.
Seiko 007 Tuna
Breitling B-2
Rolex Oyster Precision 6424
Issued CWC Divers and Fat Case G10's
Rolex Submariner ND 14060
And I think I will dislike a 45.5mm PO later this year and a PAM 111 sometime next. :blackeye:
Pitch
I don't like the Silverstone, but love the Monaco. Fairly weird...
When do you really see any Cartiers on SC? I must admit I'm really warming to the Tank Americane in gold if anyone's selling...Originally Posted by thieuster

Cheap ones :P
I don't mind a few Cartier models. The thing for me is that they're fairly low down the list of purchases. For dislikes it has to be Hublot (not seen one I like at all) and 99% of Corums.
Then there is Seiko. I don't dislike them as such but I find it hard to part with cash when I see them. The yellow chrono one with the Pepsi dial is on my want list though.
Anything made after 1990. Not kidding... More or less the same I've got with cars.
Anything with a moon phase on it.
Unless I'm a menstruating female in sync with this moonbike - why should I give a Sh!t - & they look silly - especially those with a face on the moon.

Mine's the coat next to the camel hair number. ;)
Tw-steel and U boat rate high on my dislike-o-meter.
And anything with diamonds, unless you are a girl.
Really hate Vintage Omegas and sport Rolexes. Those old chronograph Heuers are so fugly too, let alone Rolex made Panerais. It's a hard life
I agree, exept I'm not sorry, 911's are cool and so is the new fatty explorer :) oh and the deepsea 8)Originally Posted by simes

Love it or hate it we are all humans! How come a thing like a watch can stir up so much emotions! :P
I would say i am immune to the charms of the Bell & Ross range.
There you go - i found a way to say it nicely.
We have. In most cases, it's not about the watch itself. Best people don't kid themselves. Simes did at least acknowledge his was a prejudice; many don't.Originally Posted by PeterM

Yes, the movements are pretty good.Originally Posted by simes
Your point rather suggests that buyers of other brands are fundamentally more knowledgeable and worthy; they are less swayed by the brand, therefore they must be swayed by something else. WIS think that this "something else" is horological or mechanical interest; it's actually not, not in most cases. It's because it's all shiny, they like how it looks, and they got a good discount ;)

Oh, forgot the Cartiers and all the strange watches at the jewellers, where they just put their own name on it...
Rolex
AP
Breitling
They're the brands that I feel the least love for.
However, I also have a real dislike for dress watches, anything with a face size less than 44mm should be considered 'ladies' and watches in gold or with jewels, not for me.
This is almost certainly all true I guess. It's just because I tend to buy watches that are interesting to me, and not based on the fact the case is made of solid unicorn horn hollowed out by trained molluscs. Friends I've had buy a Rolex because it's blingy and pricey without learning thing about the horology behind the shine.Originally Posted by andrew

Almost all the watche on this website
