Excellent photos & a fantastic watch :)
So it finally happened... The Longines Legend Diver arrived at my work, and caused quite a few heads to turn, since the packaging was in no way discrete.
The guy who sold it to me, packed it in a box that was about 50x50x50cm, and it was huge and filled with the little foam thingies that we all know so well. In the middle.... the largest watch box, I have yet seen :D
The watch looks great, and to my great joy even better than on the (extremely) many pictures I have seen on it, all over the internet.
Dial is stunning, colors of numerals perfect and true to it being a tribute to its old heritage, and the strap... Well, I initially thought I wouldn't like it, but its quite nice. On the outside, it has looks cabon-like and you immediately think it won't be nice to wear, but on the inside... the good folks at Longines put what feels like very soft leather.... I like ! :)
Unfortunately, I can't fit the strap ! I never tried that before, but apparently my wimpy wrists are so small that I would need several extra holes to get to where it would fit me. Maybe its meant to be put on over a wet-suit, my bruised ego thinks :D How the h... do you make new holes in materials like that. I honestly think of drilling it with my Bosch cordless drill  Somehow, I wonder if that is such a good idea, though. Won't of course :)
Apart from this little (yet very annoying) detail, the watch looks absolutely marvelous.... Well, enough rambling - judge for yourself :)
Cheers,
Henrik
Oh, and please, if anyone knows how to handle the strap, please drop me a line
Excellent photos & a fantastic watch :)
It does have an awesome (and heavy, and expensive to post) box.
Come on lets see a wrist shot on your girly wrist!!
Very nice, my mate wears one on a striped Nato which looks fab....try it out.
Congrats on the new arrival.
So nice.... Fine choice

Very nice!! The no date is the way to go :)
Enjoy!!
wow !!!!
that is a stunner
Very nice, good choice, i have mine on an Isofrane, better combination than perhaps it sounds but recommended.
Very very very nice......big value as well for money....my really congrats....
Christ on a bike, you must be a proper twiglet wrist! The strap on mine isn't exactly the longest I've seen....
Great choice of watch, always raises a smile when I wear mine :)
Very nice, I'd love one of those especially the no date version like yours. What is your wrist size?
Very nice 8)
I was eyeying up one of these at my local jewellers over the weekend. Must put one of these on my 'must have one day' list!!
Great watch, great post. I had heared rumours about the size of the watch box :D And it's really huge indeed.
About the strap: did you try to add a hole with this sort of device? . I often use these pliers for the straps on my wife's watches. She's always wearing vintage chronos and most straps don't have enough holes. You're aware of that sort of situation as off today :bounce: I use the smallest 'punch' . When using these pliers, be sure to add a small piece of cardboard under the strap. Somehow, the hole is nicer, rounder and the edges are smoother when you put a small piece of cardboard under the strap. You press the punch trough the leather and through the cardboard, leaving a perfectly sized hole in the strap
I bought mine in a hardware store many years ago. Before the internet. I'm sure you can source them somewhere. I'm sure that you can get these in Denmark too.
Oh, I almost forgot: wear this watch in good health!
Menno
One of the best out there for the money IMHO & the non date is so much nicer.
Great watch enjoy wearing it. I love mine and cant take it off, my other watches have not been out of the box for over a month now.
I had to get another hole put in the strap too. My only advise would be if you take it anywhere make sure they know what they are doing and have a proper punch. I think the guy in the shop that did mine just jabbed a nail through it, not very tidy.
Wrist size is approx 18 cm, or about 7.08 inches.... I had no idea that was small..... :shock:Originally Posted by Ric356II

Feel free to drop a pic in the thread to educate me :)Originally Posted by bparker170

Nice.. so one of two arrived then ! :)
A great looking watch, esp. without the date. Good range of photos too including the unpackaging shots - I love it when watches arrive really well packaged
you can change your signature even if you can't wear it! :)
Hi Henrik,
Congrats on the pick-up! Nice to see you got the non-date version - I'd like to think I helped you make the right choice in your earlier thread.
With regards to the strap... Longines released the watch with both a regular and extra long length strap and each version had its own code.
The regular length code is: L3.674.4.56.3
The extra long strap code is: L3.674.4.56.2
To make matters even more confusing, when the Legend Diver fist came out it had the code: L3.674.4.56.0 but I do not know what length the strap was for this model. One would assume 'regular'. It was given the two above codes once they had decided to keep producing it (after its first 'discontinuation').
I'd guess you have the extra long version!

I'll have to go and try one on, if yours is the 'regular' strap I might have to give it a miss, shame really as I really like it.
very nice indeed Henrik, enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying the Aerodyne!

Nice one, I was close to buying one on the bay the other day. I do prefer the non-date.
Indeed Matt :) Hope to see the other shipment tomorrow :)Originally Posted by MattH
I love Longines.
This is a particularly beautiful model too.
Dont attack the strap with a drill, have a look around & choose something you like. It will always give you a greater sense of satisfaction that way.
Enjoy
Looks fantastic! Congrats!

Thanks Goat !! Very happy to hear you enjoy the Aerodyne - hope Mrs Goat hasn't found and confiscated it yet for her own use :DOriginally Posted by GOAT
Great watch, congrats. But your pics seem a bit "vintage" ;) . I know, not a bug, but a feature depending on a "vintage" watch.
I went to my local AD just yesterday to look at one of these. Apparently they'd sold a non date version just the day before. They're going to see if they can source another one although I doubt they'll have much luck as I believe they've been discontinued.
Lovely watch Henrik. Hope your able to sort out the strap soon so you can enjoy wearing it...
That looks terrific. One of my favourite Longines models.
regards,
Nick
Thx for the photos. Beautiful watch.
Had my regular watchmaker put in two extra holes in the strap... Works wonderfully, and looks great.
My only concern is that something from the lower end of the swatch group won't be passed on to my children.... But it is BEAUTIFUL on the wrist
Congratulations Henrik, glad you found the no date version!
Congratulation on your new purchase. Lovely watch! Here's my date version saying hello. Probably spoils the look a little bit but I can't live with a watch without the date. Many say they dislike the strap, but I really like it, something different in the collection.
Looks great - for me the ND was bit more fun because the dial seems a tad more balanced - but yours is absolutely beautiful !! And if the date is important to you, you have the perfect version. Somewhere beyond all the aesthetics, lets not forget that the watch has a purpose and a job to do....and the job differs from person to person :D :D :DOriginally Posted by Alfisti
These are such beautiful watches. I NEED one so badly!
Congrats for such a beautiful non date Diver. :P
Now that's a really nice diver!
Congrats Henrik! Beautiful watch.
I have the date version. Would prefer the non date! But still love it. I also like the strap but also found it too long for my 7.25" wrist - the strap is ok, but it's thin-ness and my small wrist means the lugs protrude a bit too much beyond the strap. Like horns. So I have mine on a Di-Modell Jumbo which is thicker and suits it IMHO and I've tried it on a rallye (pic below) and even a Hirsch catchachouc. It looks good on all of them :). (I'd prefer the original strap though - might give it another go!)
These are classically lovely watches. Congratulations on your new arrival Henrik.
No hiding that delivery from the wife though! That's a serious large looking delivery
Really love that watch, hope to trade one for myself next week.
Great pictures and a fantastic watch.
