Did we WIS'es just miss the coolest new Speedy since 1988

I had to look twice to believe it! They did it a true heritage model with (almost) everything exactly like the CK2998, even the case!!!!! the 19mm lugs, the DIAL, the HANDS.....sadly not the movement but at least this will make it (probably) affordable.
only big negative point, saphire crystal :(

Presumably the term "box-form sapphire crystal" means that it at least has the same raised profile as the originals plexi?

It is nice but surely better to get a nice vintage model? And guessing cheaper?

I suspect it is to throw the fakers off track a little since they will be working away on them as we read.

(Rolex did it a couple of years ago showing an LV Sub with drilled lugs).

    - the past is the past, re-editions never look 'right' IMO. I want to see new innovation/designs, don't need to harp back to the old days, if I do I would hunt an original....

Well it works for me..............now to see how much it costs.

I think I will wonder down to the Omega boutique in the Royal Exchange and see what they think.

WOW, yet another limited, special, retro, whatever speedmaster from Omega
    How predictably boring.

It's nice, but how many times can you recreate the same damn thing?
Just like the SMP bond editions, ooh new film time to churn out another cheese-fest, stick on some tacky 007 rubbish, some idiot will buy it.

Very nice, it is good to have a version with sapphire for those that want it.

Because it's the constant seconds dial. The 3 hands for reading the time are of one style, whilst the 3 for reading the chrono are a different style. They did the same with the Speedy MKII with the racing dial, where the chrono hands were orange, and the standard time hands were white.

Great, I want one. Would wear it on a nice natostrap though, not on leather.

Just what version/iteration/regurgitation/special edition are we on now of this? I really do lose track...and that makes it one big tacky mess of an exercise...and a dog's dinner of a brand that is aspiring for bigger things supposedly

I like that a lot, the lugs, symmetrical case, and no crown guards. Much better than the usual annual Speedmaster limited edition snoozefest. Can't understand why they didn't opt for Hesalite though.
