I think it got returned to a sandblasted finish if memory serves.

If I remember right the current owner had it returned to its original finish.

It's ringing a distant bell with me that there were two but I can't think of the other. The one which has been documented was certainly bead-blasted again.

Number 13 was stolen in a burglary and hasn't surfaced as far as I know.

Discussing the PRS-2 is all well and good. Still, those of us who missed out on it are looking forward to the DN GMT.

It was promised that it would be released before the London Olympics :D

I owned it for a spell (#143 IIRC) and sold it to Jon. It was indeed restored by a member on here prior to me buying it.

I agree with Eddie, I think there was another one too.

IIRC, the one Jon tried to sell had been brushed (maybe in part), not blasted - it caused him an issue when he tried to sell it because it wasn't original and he was asking the same sort of money that other, non polished/brushed/refinished DN were selling for at the time.

Never-the-less it sold cos it's a rare and lovely beast!

Can't imagine the time it took to polish every mm of that watch relative to the 30 seconds it took to sand blast it back to original.

This may be sacrilege, but I did like the Breitling Bling look of the polished one!

    Re: Polished Dreadnought?

#51 was brushed by a previous owner and I quite like it. After I bought #51 I also bought another that had the original finish. I found I preferred the brushed finish and sold the blasted DN on.

Definitely looking forward to a DN-GMT.

    Re: Polished Dreadnought?

The one in the PRS-2 review is 143 which I bought in 2009 having already been put back to a "bead blasted' finish. It looked OK but had lost a little of it's "sharpness" due to the 2 changes of finish (see the macro shot further down)

Polished (picture from the online review)

    Bead Blasted

It was a brave move polishing it but at launch it was such a silly cheap price I guess owners were happy to do what they like with them.
