Their automatics are so cheap I wouldn't even bother with a quartz. Build quality is fine for what your paying.
They seem to do a nice range of "homage" designs (in particular the IWC 3717 lookalike and their Panny lookalikes) but are they actually any good?
Do they keep good time?
Are their Quartz models of decent quality compared to say Seiko quartz?
Are their autos any good?
Build quality?
In other words, they look OK but are they OK or just cheap, nasty crap that will break quickly and confirm that you only get what you pay for?
Cheers
Neil.

Well, they are cheap for sure!
I asked the same thing a while back, as I was impressed by the photos. I do like the sterile versions, seems a lot of bang for your buck.
some of there mechs in the sub types can be ropey but ive got one here that uses a miyota auto and hackable movt that keeps remarkable time...
build quality aint been bad on the dozen or so ones ive had.....for a watch that costs £50 or £60 it aint half bad....
Mine are OK - but they don't get much more than occasional wear.
(I have 2-autos and 1-hand wind)
Accuracy depends on the movement type.
The PVD dweller was 20 seconds fast per day, so it got the magic adjustment tool.
The other two are pretty much spot on, and have been left alone.
If you get a hand wind, check that the stem retaining screw has been tightened properly.
Apart from the stem pulling out once, they have been 100% reliable.
Which says it all really.
They are OK if you accept them for what they are.
£30 to £60 watches.
I find mine to be ok, only gets worn once every couple of months. Only gripe so far is that the rotor can be a little noisy.
Cheap - not too nasty and mine has fantastic time keeping - although I haven't timed it on the wrist lol - it's like new and live on the hall cupboard.
Let me know if you'd like me to send it over to you - you can pass it around a few members if you like, so they can get an idea of them.??
It's just a matter of time...
In terms of the hit-and-miss nature of the Parnis quality (as described by some here on the forum), I must admit, that I never understood why some would buy a RAD Parnis, when they can go that extra mile and get the PRS-20, which is proven quality.
I like mine (IWC style), automatic, lot of watch for the money IMO. Needed to change 'cheap' leather strap, now looks much better !

The rotor on the automatics with power reserve (for example the popular IWC portuguese lookalike) makes quite a lot of noise.
get a good one and they're great. but sometimes quality control can let them down a bit. i've a soft spot for the Milgauss homeages though...
i think the thing is the less complicated, the better! the more complicated watches (i've had two with subdials) and both times the hands came loose....

marchingontogether!
I found the same issue, solved it by removing the rotor making it a handwind... Job done!Originally Posted by andamanen
Not at all bad for the money. Agree with the comments about the cheap strap, easily fixed though.
Very nice. That looks similar to the Porto.
Good for that 'new watch hit' but the wis crowd don't seem to hang onto them long . What do you expect for fifty quid?
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Do a search. Lots of owners say they like them. Lots (and lots) of people who've never even held one will tell you how bad they are.
fwiw I've been very happy with my quartz
manual wind
auto
Total cost £120
Forgot my manual wind .... (not sure if it's a Parnis but they make identical ones!)
And my quartz...
IWC style versions look the best, as others have said a strap change is a must.
I was very pleased with mine, it certainly wasn't cheap & nasty*
*The strap was cheap & nasty.
Their Explorer looks pretty great. Glad I have a PRS-25 inbound or I would be sorely tempted.
The quartz is a nice looking watch and I saw one on eBay and was pretty tempted.

It's actually the IWC brochure and the dials are separate. I bought them with the intention of using them as props at some point, couldn't tell you what plane they are from though...Originally Posted by pugster
