oh dear, i'm dizzy now! very nice
It's been a while since I posted the Heuer porn, so let's give it a go with this photo, showing four Autavias, Reference 1163. Rarest of all is the Chronomatic, on the left. Most common is the "Viceroy", on the right.

You can't beat a bit of black and red Heuer!
I've got a 1163MH on it's way to me as we speak after selling my last one and regretting it!
Wow, wow, wow,
I think you were one wow short, so permit me to correct this. WOW! :)Originally Posted by WVE60

Out of interest, how did you get the seconds hands all at the same point? Did you let them run down and then wind each one at exactly the right moment? Did you get it right the first time or have a few goes?
Lovely watches btw, the 1163 is my favourite watch by far

Cool or what .........................
Well, the objective is to get the main time-of-day hands to be sitting at approximately 10:09 ("happy time", when the watch will be smiling), and I like the look of (a) the chrono second hand being in the range of the 22 second mark and (b) the minute recorder of the chronograph being somewhere off the "0" (or actually, the "30), so the sequence is: (1) while the watch is running, get the chronograph time to 1 minute, 22 seconds [actually 22-1/2 seconds looks nicer], and stop the chronograph there, (2) let the watch run down until it stops, and then (3) set the time to 10:09, (4) if setting the time causes the watch to run for a few minutes, then set the time back to 10:09, and (5) repeat step (4), as may be necessary, so that the main hands are at 10:09.Originally Posted by Foxy100

Must get mine out and wear it more, superb watches.
Now for the important question Jeff
Which one is a Derek Bell!
Very nice, indeed. :)
Magnificent!
Love the bottom right with the little bit of wabi/patina - a stunning watch for sure :)
Aaah timeless and beautiful watches!!
Or.. You can just stop the chrono, then set the time.Originally Posted by Foxy100

Very nice - but dont see the point in having four watches looking all the same. Maybe you could mod some of them ?
They are nothing like each other, can you not notice the difference bud?? :DOriginally Posted by even neve
Lovely Jeff, just bloody lovely.

Just when im desperate to thin the collection, these kind of posts pop up!
DD
I am so ignorant that three of them look the same to me (!) not a negative critique as you can never have too much of a good thing, but means i will have to get up to speed on these & get educated.
That's a proper facepalm moment. The shame, oh the shame ;)Originally Posted by Foxy100
Mod them. Seriously?Originally Posted by even neve
That's like someone showing pics of four generations of Subs, and saying they look the same & recommending modding them.
Whatever you do don't rub it in :DOriginally Posted by europa
Incidentally I think I now have six Heuers. All with main chronograph hands. The ones where people tell me my watch has stopped.

You may as well ask what is the point of having more than one watch!Originally Posted by even neve
