Thread: What watch did you wear for your wedding?

  1. #151
    i wore this police

i bought this the day before i flew to santorini for my wedding and i still really like it. i know police are a fashion brand but i love it because it was my wedding watch and because of that, it gets to live in my watch box with my other faves.

if i was to get married today, id probably wear my oris.

I wore my Omega Dynamic Chrono mainly because of continuity as I have owned the watch since I was 18. I'm since divorced.

Recently went to my cousin's wedding and wore my '64 pie pan hidden crown Constellation. If I get married again I will probably wear the connie though I'm undecided.

I wore my late father's Omega Constellation for my wedding and had my Omega Seamaster 120M in my pocket as it was my wedding present from my wife.

All i remember is it had a date, so i'd never forget it in years to come!

Well it was abroad and I took my old Sumo, come the day the big bugger wouldn't fit under my cuff with the links in. So I didn't wear anything watch wise.

I love both: Portuguese and Santos 100. I was wearing Mark XVI- my wife gave me as a wedding gift 15min before ceremony.

A fairly dressy Longines I think: long since consigned to a drawer and now who knows - haven't seen it in years.

    This one!
It was new at the time (which dates me somewhat) and I was not especially into watches but it seemed different and a cut above the average for quality.
What's more I still have it nearly 40 years on!

Like several others - my Seiko Quartz Chrono which was the only working watch I had at the time - in this case a RN Pilot Series 2 - on a NATO!

Pretty sure mine was a Sewills Prima dress watch (from before Eddie took the brand over).
Still got it somewhere in NOS condition, no idea where!

What watch did you wear for your wedding?

I will be flying to Las Vegas in 11 days wearing my Blancpain Air Command for the duration. Seems suitably subtle but discerning for the tables and the wedding or pool side in my eyes.

A Seiko Kinetic and then whilst on honeymoon we stopped off in Singapore and bought ourselves a Tag each.

It was an Omega Seamaster Pro "Bond Ltd Edn'. One of these, in fact. Sold it as my taste changed.

Then on honeymoon we got a G-Shock each (hers was a Baby-G, naturally).

Another SMP, midsize, it was my wedding present on the day and first decent watch , seen below some 11 years later after a good life:

It felt special on the day and I still couldn't part with it.

A chromachron, designed by Tian Harlan. My favorite watch at that time, but my tastes have changed.

    Cool

A Speedy of some description. I was unfaithful to it and trade it in for a Seamaster a year or so later. Still got the same wife, thank god.

My advice for the OP (Carl):

Wear the Zeno Explorer 1 homage that I refinished for you......but don`t blame me if you're late for the wedding because I didn`t service the movement

Best wishes...I`m sure you'll make the right choice.

In 1979, at the tender age of 21, I got married wearing a gold-plated Rotary quartz watch. The watch didn`t last long but the marriage lasted 16yrs!

Sector ADV1000 back in the day when Sector made good watches. Still have it and it still runs great.

Thanks Paul. It seems that I wouldn't be alone in the choice either with Jimster opting for a Zex.

Well it finally arrived and all too quickly, though everything went fantastically and I had a great day.

I got married Saturday and decided on a Stowa Marine Original on a Toshi Saddle strap plus a Mondaine pocket watch for the service.

For the evening I wore a Precista Czech Airforce on an avocado Toshi and the Mondaine pocket watch again.

    Congratulations.

Sadly, I got into watches several years after I got into my wife, so to speak, so I was married in a Hugo Boss quartz item. Wife appears to be a keeper, but my taste in watches has become slightly more sophisticated, and varied.

    Congratulations.

Mine was nowhere near as classy as most yours, but you may detect a theme.
