*sigh* I'm not even half way yet and having purchased 5 from the SC so far I need to get a rattle on to have a clear out.
PS, this isn't speed posting, honest Guv...
:D
Whoah! I now have >250 posts clocked up.
If only I had any watches I could bear to part with.
Maybe next year?
Kind regards
Dave

It's killing me to get there and I *do* have things I want to flip!
Dave
I had a few to flip just when the limit was raised to 250 ...
now that i'm approaching 250 i've got nothing to put on there as I flipped using the wanted section...
I did sell something on SC, then the post limit was raised...at one point I was considered "good" enough to post there, now I am not!
It's a long way to 250, so I'm only buying. :)
Got to 250 myself a few weeks ago and was determined to flip some of my unworn watches... not happened! It took so much effort (and lies to the wife) to acquire them I can't seem to bring myself to flog them.
I will though...
Same here. Need to flip before I can buy.

another notch on the headboard!!!
Same here, and I have enough to flip at the moment :).
I can see this quickly becoming the "lets get to 250" thread :D
Congrats on reaching the milestone!
750 more and you'll find out what goes on in the Bullingdon Club :D
Beat me to it........ :shock:Originally Posted by Relativity
Well, as it seems to be that type of thread, this is the one that notches my century.
Congrats on reaching 250. Just in time for the SC limit to be raised to 500. Maybe.
Let's hope not as I'm slowly getting there myself....Originally Posted by nitsy

Can't sell any more with the new 250 limit, and the way my posts are racking up, I reckon I could re-start selling on SC sometime in 2014 :|

The 250 limit has hurt SC, but them is the rules. There was a little post Chrimbo rush, but its been pretty quiet for ages. Basically, its all those poor sods, like me, whith their watch funds all tied up in blasted, unflippable watches!

I've been a member here for almost 2 years, so hardly a prolific poster. However, even with my sparse contributions it is possible to rack up the posts to reach whatever target you may set. Not sure I'll get to join the Bullingdon Club though in what's left of my 3 score & 10.
Kind regards
Dave
Interesting to note most posts on this thread are people building up to 250 8) 8)
Obviously including me!
...and that it'll probably get deleted by Eddie in due course...
Yeah the admins usually delete these sort of threads, which I guess is okOriginally Posted by paul.in.kendal
I finally got to 250 the other day having already sold watches before the rule change, yet I find myself on the WTB section instead!!!!
I am not sure why it was raised. Was there an influx of dubious stuff or maybe it was an attempt to promote a different sort of contributor to the forum?

So am I!I'm behind you :D
Well I'm getting on 5 years as a member, not noticed the SC requirement really... my problem has always been the selling on part...
Make that 3 years... I was sure I had been member since early 2008... oh well, have certainly bought too many watches in a fairly short space of time!?? One of my favourite buys is still an almost all original 6309-7040 on Super Oyster for not too much over £100! Classic watch and the only unoriginal part is the crystal which has amazing inner dome which really sets watch off!
I love a good ole moan about the new 250 limit too, I'm not too far away now though, but thankfully I have nothing I want to sell at the moment.Originally Posted by Xantiagib

I think it was changed due to speedposters just using the site to sell and some dodgy dealers.
The point is that it is meant to be a community with a sales facility attached and not the other way around.
Shame those people spoiled it for everyone by making the change necessary: SC seems to be a shadow of what it was.
Nothing to buy or sell here, don't you guys/gals know that we're in a double dip :)
The last watch I sold was through the Lotus owners forum last month! The 250 post limit is a bit of a niggle ... Don't get me wrong, I understand why it is in place. However it does restrict certain low post count users who have bought and sold several pieces successfully with other well established members before the limit came into play. Some of us were genuine ;) Surely by opening the SC to more users, you have a better chance of viewing/buying more interesting/varied watches ... ?
It doesn't matter though ... I'll wait until 250 posts ... Until then there are several other websites available :)
I see the logic behind raising the post count to 250 but isn't there the danger that you just increase the number of pointless threads / replies posted by those simply looking to increase their count?
At least when it was 50 people would stop doing this at 50, I guess now it will be 250.
At my current rate it'll be 2020 before I get there
