Best Christmas present you will ever have, very pleased for you.

Eight weeks ago my world was thrown upside down, my 39 year old wife was diagnosed with grade 2 ductile breast cancer. Anyone who has been in the same situation will know the worst part is not knowing what is going to happen, each step means another wait for results. Well Wednesday we got the results back from the surgery and my wife is now cancer free! It doesn't feel real but it does feel good! She will still need 4 weeks of radiotherapy but the consultant is confident that the cancer cells have been removed.
We talk about watches, expensive cloths, large Tv's but I know that the best gift I will get on Christmas day is that moment when I sit with my wife and son and say merry Christmas.
I really hope that you have as good a Christmas as I will, just take a few minutes to look at the people around you and remember they are more important than any gift you unwrap, play with for a few months then flip in SC.
I wish you all a very merry Christmas, good health and a happy new year.
Best Christmas present you will ever have, very pleased for you.

Excuse my French but having been ion a similar situation all I can say is

Great news mate. As someone who woke up on New Years Day a few years ago having a heart attack(aged 40!), a reminder of our mortality puts things into perspective. Have a great Christmas and best wishes for the new year.
Wonderful christmas gift - enjoy yourselves
I don't know you, OP, but I'm really chuffed for you. All the best to you and your family.
Anyone who battles and beats cancer is a hero in my book- well done. Have a wonderful Christmas.

Very few of us are not touched in one way or another by this disease. I am very happy for your news and it does indeed bring a bit of perspective. So, have a great Christmas with those you love.

Fantastic news OP - hope that 2012 is a much better year for all of you.
My Sister had it two years ago, she's fine now but it scared the shit out of us so I know a little of what you've gone through.

Great news!
My sister in law was diagnosed a few weeks ago. Lots of scans since and she had her first dose of chemo on thursday.
Another five sessions to go and then they will consider operating... :(
My wife and I are both registered nurse's. Sometimes I wish I was naive about these things.
Have a fantastic christmas and look forward to 2012.
Dave
Great news and a great time of year to receive it.
Well done, my girlfriend has been clear for 18 months and me for a year, she is getting a very nice Xmas present.
That's great news, best wishes to you both 8)
Lost my uncle to the big C in September, he really suffered and it was terrible to see him go through it. He never married and we are a small close family.
He came to our house for Christmas dinner for about the last 10 years. I'm sure there'll be a few tears shed tomorrow.
You must feel like you're walking on air at the moment?
Fantastic news, have a great Christmas and a wonderful 2012!

And you did the right thing to mention it too...extremely pleased for you and grateful for one of those little reminders to stay aware of what really matters.
