    Ollech & Wajs divers

Any good ? Ive been offered a O&W precision M4 diver as a part of a trade.
Allegedly it comes with a 2824-2 movement which I rather fancy for something else, but maybe its to good to butcher ?

If I am to keep it as it is it needs a new bezel insert, but googling for parts for these gave little hope of finding one

They are very good; I really like O&W stuff.

I had an M4 which I sold, and an M5 which was stolen. I currently have a 3095 'Big Pilot' which I wear very often.

They're solidly built, reliable and their finishing is second to none. I bought my 3095 new direct from O&W and my M4 was new at the time from RLT. I suggest you contact O&W directly; Mr Wajs himself is an absolute pleasure to deal with.

I have a O+W M65 and it is a fantastic watch, the most accurate automatic i have owned keeping time within 1 second a fortnight.

This is obviously in need of some TLC. I can see 8021 stamped on the mov'ment, don't know too much else about them though, but I do like the 60's / early 70's style and one day I will get around to doing it proud.

Excuse the lousy photo which is the only one I have to hand at the moment.

Far too good to butcher, in my opinion, unless the case is fatally wounded.

I own an M4, it makes my expensive homage 16610 look silly. :D

    I won't be parting with it. :)

My M5 is one of my most accurate autos and its small size for a 200m diver makes it even cuter.

My M4 is within 10 seconds per week! :)

Even more accurate than my 16610.

I'll add my O&W M6 to the mix. Also bought from RLT a number of years ago.

    Re: Ollech & Wajs divers

hi, no i didn't mod myself. i gather the bezel insert is a rolex type replacement from ebay which has been machined out to fit, and the hands are a fairly freely available eta version of seiko hands.
    hope this helps!
if you try here you might be able to source a genuine bezel insert.

i'd be interested in your m4 if you decide to part with it intstead at some point.

I have a O&W Cougar diver a few years back and found it to be a good sound watch which ran well for the two or three years I had it. I have quite a few watches so it was not used daily but it was fine on a few hols in Thailand when I was jet skiing and doing some shallow diving.

I used to have this utterly stunning Bob Thayer teflon-coated M-6. I definitely wouldn't butcher it (or any other O&W) for its movement.

Hi It's Goat....I did the mod personally...skimmed a few thou out of the bezel to receive generic Rolex inserts freely available.
No need to worry about O&W imho, had 5 or 6 over the years, all outstanding value for money, 3077 and cobra are my favourites

The Kartago is my favourite. With a bigger crown it would have been better.
