It's been at the top of the forum page for nearly 6-months without any complaints.
Exactly what i was suggesting earlier. The orange in the applet is a gorgeous, rich orange. The orange in the photoshopped version above is a fluorescent, pinkish colour which does it no favours at all. I wonder if this choice is to avoid the problem with fading which appears to have affected the original Dreadnought?

For some reason I think the GMT hand is too prominent with the orange color. IMHO the GMT is a secondary feature, but a nice one, and the local time zone should be the easiest to read at a glance.
Everyone's a critic and it will be sold out before I get a chance to buy anyway :-)

    Cool

Heh, no. I should have been more descriptive as the time zone is behind, so will have to be early risers to try for an order!

Clearly no, we aren't there yet. But the Dreadnought bloodnut seems well on the way. New hands and DW seem locked in and back we go to patient waiting...

came back here from a long hiatus due to an auto-email from tz-uk on the updated of the new smith's, but the blurb about the dn gmt delay at the end of the email is what brought me back...didn't even know it was being created let alone the release being imminent. haven't posted or been back here in a few years since i picked up one of the speedbird III's on the 2nd run. lots of laughs in this thread but the contrast between the two posts that were made back to back i quoted down below had me for a while for some reason...really struck my funny bone.

first you have the eloquently technical post here:

And from the latest rear view picture, I noticed that these are going to have screwed lugbars. I wanted to comment because I think these are an optimum choice for many buyers in having nearly the security of military specification fixed lugbars (provided you insure the threaded parts stay put with a bit of Blue Loc-Tite or clear women's nail polish when reinstalling the bars after each strap, etc., change) while allowing easy use and interchange of standard design (i.e. closed-end) straps and metal bracelets.

My own preference is still strongly for ("reliable as a rock") classic mil spec fixed lugbars on watches like the PRS-29A, but it is very obvious even to me that fixed lugbars are not the best or most appropriate option for every watch because they do restrict one's strap choices to open-end and one-piece types while forcing those wanting a metal bracelet to search for very exclusive types possibly not even available anymore. Considering that, I think the screwed lugbars are absolutely perfect, and harmonically so, for the new and admittedly very beautiful DN-GMT
followed up by the...um...shall we say "enthusiastic" post here:

Eddie previously said about 10 weeks until they are ready, so i have calculated that to be end of Sept / begin of October roughly

Should provide sufficient time to save up until then

I asked Eddie the other day and he said around 3 weeks to wait for the hands and then a couple of weeks for assembly. By that I'm guessing end of October all being well.

Of course I have seen how Eddie likes to tease so could be tomorrow!

I think most of them are already assigned according to the post count.
This time around the watch won't be put on sale on the web shop.

None are reserved and all 200 will be available through the website. Where did you get your information?

That's you off the list then

I thought I'd read somewhere that the GMT wasn't going to be a limited edition, so there may be a second (or more) batch? Is this correct, Eddie?

Correct, and chain rattlers end up like Jacob Marley.

    ESTIMATE?

Is it likely to be @ £850? one is extrapolating somewhat wildly from the Bronze and the original DN

Had to look it up as I couldn't remember: "In life, Marley, like Scrooge, was a bitter, greedy and selfish man. When he died, he was damned to eternally wander the earth as a decrepit spirit, forever burdened by a mass of chains that represent his accumulated sins"

So that's a pretty comprehensive threat!

I did recognise the irony of using Disney to verify Dickens, particularly 201 years after his birth..

You all need to read the original Dickens "A Christmas Carol", forget the Disney version, it's a travesty.
