Lovely watch and a very nice present, congrats
My superb family and my beautiful girlfriend teamed up to treat me to a beautiful diver's watch for my graduation :D ...
At the budget they had I was torn between a nice Seiko diver or a new Omega SMP/2500 PO. I ultimately decided on the SMP as the watch looks really good in real life...however having handled the PO I want one again (for the 4th time). It has not been an easy decision as there are points I prefer on the SMP and other I prefer on the PO. I bought it while on holiday in Amsterdam from ACE jewelers (favourite Omega AD on wus) and Dimer (sales executive) has been really superb to deal with  . Thanks again my friend :) !
I strapped it on a Nato as I find the bond bracelet to dress up the watch a bit too much for my liking and it makes it a bit too busy. Anyone knows if the speedy should fit and where do I get one please  ? Anyway on to the pics now and I hope you like them. I'll hold on to this watch till the moment that I'll grasp my last breath of air on this planet :drunken: ...
We turned out really stoned in this photo...I wonder why  ...
It was not easy to choose between the SMP/PO...
A watch I'll never afford  ...
Decision made...
Some pics of the beauty..
Sorry if I bored you with my many pics and my apparent excitement...
Lovely watch and a very nice present, congrats
lovely post. well done sir! on the watch, the graduation, and the stunning girlfriend!
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Great to see the first new SMP of the forum, but please, please...
PUT IT BACK ON THE BRACELET! At once..!
Stunning watch :D
i love theys new seamasters!
Congratulations on your graduation and a great watch (& generous family/gf!)
New ceramic bezel looks great, nice update to a classic. Enjoy it for many years!
Nice story!
regards,
Nick
Thanks for all kind replies my friends!
I like these improvements against previous SMP:
- Non wave dial
- 2500D movement
- Bezel insert
- Bezel recesses have been slightly improved for grip
What I prefer on the PO:
- ALL brushed bracelet
- Hands (ever so slightly)
- Dial text font
- Larger crown
Nice watch and congratulations on the graduation.
Lucky chap - congratulations and enjoy!
Mark
That new bezel looks amazing, way better than the horrible new one they put on the PO. Many congratulations!
One minor thing though...........PLEASE ALIGN THE BEZEL PIP BACK TO 12 OCLOCK IT'S DRIVING ME MAD!!! :D
Looks great...like the look of that bezel insert and the glossy dial.
Great present
What a wonderful gift! Enjoy the heck out of it, wear it with pride.
Looks like a ceramic bezel, gorgeous!
Very very nice.
Congratulations on your graduation !!
Great set of photo's and and lovely watch.

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Your family are very kind - enjoy. I didn't see anything that good on my last visit to Amsterdam.
Oh, nice watch too.
Thanks for all kind replies. I love my girlfriend she is a real sweetheart and looks quite cute IMHO :D so thanks for your kind appreciation  ..
You can be 100% sure that I will enjoy the heck out of the watch without any fear. It will come with me wherever I go and will definitely be used in anger while diving, swimming, running, travelling and all other kind of foolishness I put my body through..trust me the watch will be tried and tested :D ..
Thats a hell of a graduation gift and your girlfriend must be very special to you!
Fabulous story and a lovely watch which im sure you will treasure. Regards. Kev
And the watch :lol:Originally Posted by learningtofly

Congratulations - both with the graduation and the watch. Great story and photos; this kind of posts are one of the best examples of how to do it.
We are following a "man on his mission" . Great : :P

congratulations on your graduation. Fantastic present & a great all rounder, looks superb on the nato.
She looks lovely - and the watch ;)Originally Posted by seikopath
Have had a good few days watch shopping in Amsterdam in the past.
I do like the gloss dial - a lot more than I thought I would - looks great and the bezel insert is fabulous - I really like it on a NATO too - I may switch my black bond over to one 8)
It's just a matter of time...
I've never seen the SMP with a ceramic bezel, just lovely :drunken:
Also well done for getting the sales assistant to pose for photos. I'll try it when I next visit La Senza ;)
I also want to congradulate you on your graduation.
Nice of your family and gf to chip in and by you a new watch. My own gf would never do such a thing. She beleives i use too much time & money to start with on this hobbie so she would not want to encouurage me any further. The one bonus of her not paying any attention to my watches is that i'm able to sneak a new one into the house without it being noticed.
Enjoy your new watch - Darren
Congratulations on your graduation and your new excellent choice of watch.
I'm also pleased to see that the prerequisite 'sleepy' eyes' were acquired whilst in 'The Dam' :drunken:
I will also congratulate you on a great pick-up. The new SMP is lovely. Seeing your pictures reminded me of my last visit to Amsterdam. I recognised the shop and the sales chap, the balcony where you took your picture with your girl, oh and the 'sleepy' eyed look!
Congratulations also on your graduation. All the best for the future. 8)
Another congratulations here. Very nice looking watch you have there. Enjoy it!
Congratulations on both the graduation and the watch!
You should have let Dimer make some pictures of your watch, he is really an amazing (watch) photographer! :)
Congrats on the graduation and watch!
So is this a new Ceramic model then? I'm not too well up on Omegas but actually quite like this one. Does anyone have more details?

Yeah Amsterdam is really nice...I really enjoyed eyeing the displays (sometimes I also looked at the ones filled with watches  ) and also enjoyed the 'culture' of the place, they surely have some nice traditions :D ...
Dimer is a great watch photographer, actually he already took some crazy nice pics of this same watch a few days before  ...
Actually my girlfriend liked the place so much she asked me to try and find a job in Amsterdam so that we can move there for some time. I'm really considering that option especially since I'm paid with peanuts here in Malta compared to Northern EU countries :| ...however it's also more expensive to live there. I don't know but I'll seriously think about it...
Yes the watch is the last SMP incarnation with ceramic bezel, no wave gloss dial, font difference, silver text and markings, thicker screwed bracelet, different clasp and caseback, 'He' on HRV, blue & green lume...that's about it I think :D
Nice! You chose the best looking Seamaster!
Really-really beautiful piece...nice photography as well...Wear it in good health
Your Seamaster is really stunning. Enjoy it!
Congratulations for your graduation and for the gift :-).
Catalin
That's a cracking story, well done and good luck!
Congrats and good choice, an SMP was my first 'expensive' watch as well.
Nice watch, I was never a fan of the old SMP but the 'improvements' bring it bang up to date.
Congratulations on your graduation.
Congratulations on your graduation, and also congratulations on a smashing watch.
I love the dial, the bezel is cool, and the bracelet with screw links is a major step up from the pushpins of old.
congratulations on the graduation, and the watch, and having lovely people to chip in on it for you. :)
congrats did you walk with that ace bag through amsterdam .... i hope not :-)
did you like amsterdam?
Think I'll leave this thread open for the gf to have a look at, graduation not too far away for me
Great watch 8)
lI'm ooking for a new SMP whats the model number of yours?
Cheers
I did not  ...but look I'm a fairly decent amateur boxer (currently ranked 2nd at national level), so please stay away from my watch bag :D ..Originally Posted by rick
