The following message has come to my attention:

03 November 2011

A man jogging in Hove Park has had his designer watch stolen during a robbery at around 7.30pm last night (Wednesday 2 November).

The 36-year-old local victim was approached by two men who asked him for the time. As he looked at his Tag Heuer watch, worth around £2,500 and a gift from his grandmother, the men have demanded he hand it over and grabbed hold of him.

Detective Sergeant Helen Paine said: "The watch is a Tag Heuer link chronograph gents watch and is of great sentimental value to the victim. If you are a professional watch dealer or member of the public who is offered a Tag Heur watch matching the photo please contact police."

Both suspects are described as white and in their early 20s. The first suspect is described as 6', slim, dressed in a waxed country jacket. The second suspect is described as 5'6, stocky, wearing baggy combat style trousers.

A police dog unit was deployed following the robbery and officers are now completing forensic examinations, viewing CCTV and speaking to local residents.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting 1457 or anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
