Scroll to UTS Munchen and look out for demo models direct from UTS with great discounts and full warranty
Have just got my hands on a Sinn UX and I must say I love it! But moving on my next purchase is likely to be a U1 or a UTS 500m. Which should I go for and where is the best place to pick one up at a decent price?

I uncerstand why Sinn have so many fans but I am another one who has a soft spot for UTS.
i find the dials to small on the uts in comparison with the case the u1 would be my choice
To me it has to be the U1.
I'm in the Sinn boat, I'm not a fan of the UTS lugs.
Here's a shot of my U1SDR:
Cheers guys.
I have owned (and sold  ) both.
Both are excellent but I would be swayed towards the UTS. Superior build quality to the Sinn, IMHO, and it really will take whatever you can throw at it.
As others have said, contact Herr Spinner through Chrono24 and you will get a good deal.
Good luck whatever you decide.
Both brands make very good watches but I'd rate the Sinn as being much better value for money
I am biased towards the Sinn.....even more so if it's Sinn U1 SDR
I have had many Sinn but never even seen a UTS, so for me it'd have to be UTS
Gray
Fan of both brands, its a difficult choice and I'm sorry I cant be of any help.
I really dig the u1
Both brands have a very strong character. If you intend to sell the watch later on and you go for an UTS go for a used one. You'll burn a lot of money selling. SINN will not loose that much of value.
I should just add that if you are after a very high quality German dive watch for the price of a U1 / UTS 500m you should also consider a Stowa Seatime Prodiver, It looks different, but beautiful in my eyes, you can get one without a chronographic movement for about £800 or about £950 with the chronographic movement, so good value as well.
I'd go with the u1 any time!
U1 all the way. Not even close IMO.
Sinn for me, the U1 is an icon, and still good VFM.
I don't like the dials on the UTS, and the removable lugs are not my cuppa, I've found out.
Cheers,
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
I do like the U1 SDR, with the black bezel, does anyone know how the PVD finish on the bezel handles knocks and scratches? supposed to be tegimented, so I would have thought this should improve things.
SDR bezel handles perfectly. I've accidently hit it a couple of times and it's not even got a hairline mark. Amazing
Interesting. It appears that the 'ex demo' models on Chrono 24 are available at a substantial reduction, but I can't really make a comparison with the second hand value as I don't think I have ever seen a UTS 500m come up for sale.Originally Posted by avinci1461

Here's a few pics of my UTS 1000m V2. I got this from Chrono24 directly from Nicolaus Spinner at a good price. As other's have said UTS can take a bit of a beating on the second hand market, so I'd definitely try and get an ex-demo or a used one in good condition.
Sinn for me. Don't have much experience of UTS, but the Sinn U1 is a great dive watch - wouldn't be without mine.
regards,
Nick
I've had a U1 and would love another at some point, however, as you have a UX I would go for the UTS.
James.
Here is a Sinn for sale. Good price or not?

That's a pretty good price provided there's no question regarding it's provenance.Originally Posted by gregor
I'm another very happy owner of a U1 SDR. I think it's definately a keeper.
I think this seller is very reliable.
Just the other day I was looking at ebay what the going rate for a Seiko Titanium Samurai was. I saw quite a few listed, used, for around 1000$......so 850euro for a Sinn must be a bargain. ;-)
Cheers,
Gregor (wished he felt rich enough to buy that Sinn...really very nice watch)
Not the prodiver - but I have just acquired a Stowa Seatime.Originally Posted by ROBANNENAGY

sinn u1 all the way, love mine
I may be biased...
UTS have a better build quality and the UTS 2000 doesn't suffer from a small dial and large bezel like some others (photo not mine unfortunately..).
I do have the U1 though and wear it quite a bit.
