Truly a beautiful, classic, defining watch. This is what comes up to many people's minds when Rolex is mentioned.
I sold my vintage 16014 a few months ago, it was exactly like the one below but I couldn't quite get my head around the acrylic crystal and rattly bracelet of the vintage, felt too fragile so I hardly ever wore it in fear of smashing it up.
So when I saw this lovely Silver dial 116234 for sale, I snapped it up :)
It came on an Oyster but I've fitted it with one of my Jubilee bracelets, very very comfy and a more classic look :)
Instant classic and great dress watch, pics below.
Enjoy guys :)

Great watch for allround wear.
The DJ never goes out of fashion.
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Looks good :) I have been seriously considering one of these recently, think I might take the plunge.
I love the way the bracelet fits with no slop whatsoever on the lugs. Fantastic.
That's a great example. Congratulations. I'm warming to those models more and more.
regards,
Nick
I just bought the same watch except its 45 years from a gent on this forum. Never thought I would go for a 'datejust' but there is just something about the all silver slightly blingy look. Lovely watch!!
Very nice congratulations! Is that what they call a champagne dial?
An absolute classic, wear it in good health. Congratulations
Beautiful, and nicely photographed.
Hopefully you'll now have a little less money to spend on cat food ;)
Very nice bracelet.
Iconic I have to say!
Understated elegance.A classic.Congratulations!!
Love it, love it, love it. The dial is gorgeous, think I'd love it more on the oyster though.
I love the DJ, it's such a fine looking watch.
It suits you well, enjoy wearing it!
Looks an absolute beauty.
Classic understated elegance
Great watch I purchased one a few months back, with a white dial, they are a classic,I'm thinking about adding a oyster bracelet. I have noticed there is one for sale on SC.
I want one! That's a real classic, at a good price compared to rest of the Rolex Market. Enjoy.
Mine has because it bi-metallic -- Oh those heady days in the 80s :(Originally Posted by Daddelvirks

Looks super hot on the Oyster but even better on the Jubilee.
I'm pleased I've got a DJ back in the fold and especially one with the Silver dial :)
That looks fantastic, excellent pictures as well.
Now thats my grail!
Great combo with the jubilee, much nicer than the oyster.
I'm considering selling one of my favs to get me a datejust.
Enjoy it!
Thats really nice - congrats 8)
those are realy nice, i have been wanting to try one for a while now
is the case bigger then the plexi modell (diameter) or just thicker luggs

Really nice and looks in great condition!
I have a silver dialed Date and love it, but I want a DJ now.....
The classic Rolex, absolutely beautiful. Silver dial is the mutts nuts, although I could go White dial and roulette date as well. Congratulations.
Classy looker but i would say so as I have one. Really does look smart. Nice purchase.
Have you checked the daily deviation?
