I agree, I've bought many watches through WTB's and actually just agreed the buying of the same watch as you this morning!
Just received a Speedbird GMT from a wtb ad that I placed.
The first thing I thought when I opened the box is "Why has it taken me so long to get one"
Very impressed with it & can see it becoming a favourite!

Nice to hear, well done hope you enjoy it
Nice one
Bought and sold a couple thanks to the WTB section....
Never tried it myself.
But you for sure got a nice piece now 8)
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Its a great watch I like the ETA movement, style, quality & bracelet a lot.
I wanted one for a while. But after trying one I found it too small for my liking. :( :( .
When it works its brilliant and you forget all the times it didn't.
Kinda reminds me of the IWC Mark XV. That's a great watch!
Yep they definitely work! Received this earlier this week following a WTB post
Great watch, my photo does not do it justice. (Peter I hope my post will not give you withdrawal symptoms! ;) )
You've been luckier than me. I posted a couple of WTB ads with no responses. Both watches came up in SC shortly afterwards (I'm talking days, not weeks or months), but obviously neither seller had thought to check the WTB forum.
It's obviously worth a try, but posting a WTB certainly wouldn't stop me from also keeping an eye on SC.
(Congratulations on the Speedbird GMT. Lovely watch. It's on my "I may well get one of those in the future" list.)

I was lucky with a WTB and got a Seiko SKA371 in great condition at a resonable price.
That Speedbird looks superb too.
Cheers,
Ian.
Agree. Had a few responses to my WTB adds. Not bought yet though.

:D I have something incoming thanks to a WTB.
I do like the Speedbird GMT but wouldn't sell my SB3 to get one as I prefer the cleaner dial and can't quite justify having both.
There seem to be aces people who have had success with WTBs of late.
Those asking for a new Explorer 2 for fifty quid are unlikely to get the same :D
I agree - got a lovely watch in a nice trade triggered by my WTB.
Agreed - that sort of money should only get you the superseded 16570 model (though an immaculate one, with full set). I'd expect to have to pay at least 75 for a new 216570. :)Originally Posted by DS3R
Congrats
I do like the SB GMT more and more and threads like this make it harder to resist.
