i feel privileged banana to have a peek into your drawers. that nivada is the one for me - never seen one before. that maurice lacroix is a bit trippy isnt it? love the connie. think that will have to be my new dream watch.
I have had literally one request (from Paul - "Lawnmowerman") for a State Of The Collection post. But it was a pretty compelling request given that he had just done me a huge favour and required no payment other than this thread for it! The wonders of the TZ community...!
As a few of you may know I have been collecting watches for getting on for fifteen years, and have literally hundreds - many of which are just lower end interesting pieces, but each and every one was purchased by me, for the love of watch collecting. I simply have no willpower and have probably never refused an offer of a watch at a collectors fair, boot sale or anywhere else. It has cost me a lot of money over the years, but I don't regret a penny of it. I have hugely enjoyed flipping and swapping here on TZ, and I'm glad that many of them have found new homes with appreciative owners, whether they cost a couple of quid or considerably more.
But I do also have a "core" collection that I rotate slowly, and comprises pieces that I find particularly interesting or desirable. It is quite an eclectic collection, with no particular theme. The majority are middle to higher-end, but there are a few that aren't excessively valuable, but I have just kept because I really like them.
So, here is about 80% of my core collection for your viewing pleasure (I have got better at taking pics during my time here), and please feel free to comment in any way.
Cheers Paul, this one's for you.
TFB
JLC Memovox Supercompressor
Panerai Pam 112
Rolex DayDate 18k (Birth year watch for me!)
Omega Speedmaster Professional Earth Moon Mars
Nivada Grenchen Leonardo Da Vinci World Timer (I absolutely love this one!)
Poljot celebrating Gagarin's first flight - big and cool and very well made. I especially like the way the date of the flight - 12 April 1961 - is worked into the dial.
Omega Dynamic "Meteorite Dial" - very unusual and extremely striking.
Bell & Ross BR01-92 PVD
Breitling SuperOcean Chrono - my favrourite Breitling of all.
Maurice LaCroix Pontos Decentrique - fabulous twin time zone movement and beautifully detailed.
Sothis Stardust - I wanted one of these for years. Big, heavy and simply superlative hand made German artistry.
Certina DS3 Super PH1000m - New Old Stock condition and wonderful!
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms - along with the SD, the definitive dive watch (and this is the new dressy version with lume like nothing else I have ever seen).
Omega Speedmaster Professional with display back. I bought this in memory of my mum, and would never part with it.
Omega Constellation MegaQuartz - stardust dial. Simply the most gorgeous watch ever made by Omega. No picture can ever do it justice.
Rolex Milgauss - black dial, not the green glass version (which I am not too keen on as it makes the orange second hand look odd in my opinion). This is a Rolex that feels like a Rolex should - chunky, fabulous finish and finally a great bracelet.
Rolex SeaDweller - rarer "Swiss" dial variant. Perhaps the definitive dive watch, I much prefer them to subs.
Rolex GMT Master - I like two tone these days! Classic vintage looks too.
Rolex Turn-o-Graph - truly gorgeous in two-tone and black dial. Mmmm!
And finally, a group shot. I love them all.
So clever my foot fell off.

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Great collection, Alex. Thanks for sharing

Some very nice watches, the FF & the SD are my pick of the bunch.
Love the Gagarin LE as well as the Blancpain.
However the collection is fantastic, lot's of great choices.
Stunning collection, thanks for sharing
That Certina is simply gorgeous
Superb Alex...i still love that Certina :) ....(amongst most of the others as well.....)
Incredible collection, a lot of diversity, some great classics...
Sincere thanks for sharing it!
PS that FF is a beauty...
Fantastic! The JLC, Nivada and Certina do it for me. As do the SD and Blancpain
Cracking collection.
The Sothis is a new one on me, looks very interesting.Another example of this place opening my eyes to new brands i would never have come across.
Very special.
Love these stories and it's always nice when, as a fellow member, I've been part of your ever changing collection, as many others will have been too.
The Poljot is sublime and IMHO perfectly depicts the man we know as TFB 8)
Nice one Alex! 8)
That 112 looks particularly good on the bracelet if I do say so myself...! :D
Now to get that beer organised so I can see them in person! :)
All the best,
Paul
Super collection, love (most) them! Good taste :)
A beautiful collection thank you for sharing, you have some remarkable watches.
best

A wonderful and varied collection, thanks for sharing
:D What a collection, so many we all know all ready but loads of really unusual and different ones as well, which I like much more, Omega stradust is so cool and so nice in real life (seen a couple now 8) ), Maurice LaCroix is stunning and the Certina DS3 is my favourite diver out of that group.
Thanks for sharing what a great collection 8) .
Alex, its the gold day-date and bi-metal GMT for me!
Such an excellent collection! All the watches are distinct and collectable. Thanks for sharing!
Superb collection.
Also a pleasure and an education to meet you at the Hitchin GtG earlier in the year and see some of these fabulous watches first hand.
Ian.

Love the sea-dweller .. this is getting pretty high on my list of "must haves".
And the Nivada is very very cool!! 8)
Wonderful collection Alex and thanks for showing them, the Nevada is a stunner!
Hi Alex,
Lovely collection. And as I discovered to my cost, most suitable for my wrist too! It certainly made me appreciate a few pieces that I had previously passed over.
Alex
Beautiful kit. I love the Maurice L, if you ever want to swap it for a wheelchair-RRP £12K :D
Paul
GOT...TO...KILL...CAPTAIN STUPID!
A very impressive collection.
Thanks for sharing, my favourite is probably the FF
Let me add another voice to the applause, a lovely collection, congratulations. I love the Blancpain and the Milgauss myself, the latter is becoming an addition to my grail list.
Thanks for that :-) An interesting, diverse and desirable mix. Plenty to like and admire. Your pics are excellent.

Superb 8)
Love the JLC & Blancpain, plus the 112 of course (on my list). Really like that ML too, though it's a classic example of the kind of thing I'd lust after and then never wear - would be interested to know whether it sees much use?
What a great collection.. I love that certina
Stunning and diverse collection. Thanks for taking the time to share!
The gold day date is an absolute stunner.
I am convinced that yellow gold will be making a come back over the next couple of yrs.....
Super collection all have their attractions but for me the fairy on the christmas tree has to be the stardust megaquartz. Disco/bling styling? Yeah possibly; but drop dead lovely and an interesting movement.
Wow.... What a collection!
I particular like the nivada and the certina. Thanks for sharing.
Wow...I was going to gush on the Certina, but then I saw the Rolex Turn-o-graph....
B E A utiful!
Thanks for all the kind comments chaps!
I'm not sure what I am going to go for next, but a Martin Braun Selene with meteorite dial is on the hit-list. Only trouble is they seem to be sold fairly exclusively in the US, and I am not that keen on massive import duties...
So clever my foot fell off.
Now thats a serious collection, can tell how varied it is by the fact that everyone seems to have a different favourite. Personally, I'd go for the Certina.
If thats 80%, when do we get the other 20%?

What a superb collection. I didn't realise my TT GMT was joining a stable of such class.
Nice one and thanks for sharing.
Superb collection!
Woof! MQ Stardust for me is the pick as well.
Hi Alex,
Having done several deals or trades with you I was always curious about your watches too.
This all looks fabulous and I am feeling envious but I do wish you a long and happy relationship with these beauties.
Regards,
Marc
That's an amazing collection. It's really nice to see such variety of styles and manufacturers in there. My favourites are the FF and the JLC.
Fantastic collection - I, too, must mention the Certina in particular.
Cheers,
Andy
What an interesting collection - very varied and rather discerning if I may say so. Great taste.
My two picks would be that fantastic choice of turn-o-graph and the Blancpain. Although that ML dual time zone is up there for sheer fascination value. Thanks for showing :)
Fantastic and varied collect you have there. The Blancpain is just :drunken:
Some cool and unusual pieces in there.
Very, very impressive, if I were to list some of the watches I would like to get in the future you already have them.
what a collection, wish i could afford even half of them. have to agree with you about the omega constellation it does indeed look the biz
I too have been intrigued to see what your collection is like after your great sales posts; enthusiasm for vintage and left-field watches. So thanks for sharing :)
