Baden, that's got the early dial 1983 to 86. I have one from 86 that's away getting the seals replaced and a new crystal. Looking at yours makes me miss mine as its my daily beater, great watches ! Bob.
Just sitting on a red hot beach in Mallorca and got some wifi so I thought I would share my holiday watch.
She's behaving well and done some snorkling a well earned break from her past military service with the RN.
Her enjoying a dip

Nice :D !
Is there any examples of the different faces etc?
I knew the bezel insert was a replacement on mine could never find examples of the face and hands.
Baden, yes your bezel insert is replacement as are the hands. I don't have a pic of mine to hand but will post one when it returns. The early CWC quartz divers were very similar to the sm 300 in terms of dial, hands and bezel insert. Bob.
Looks great but I don`t prefer nylon straps to water.
Enjoy your holiday !
How do you see that the dial is an older one ?
Here my 1997 issued CWC RN,
Here is my CWC RN diver, which I believe to be all-original, for reference purposes:
It's an '83 - easy to see the similarities to the SM300.
Laurent, compare the numbers at 3-6-9 8)
As Nalu says, the font type on 3 6 9 are different. Also the triangle at 12 is less pointed than post 86 dials and leaves bigger gap to circled CWC. Gap between circled CWC and circled t is greater on early models (83 to 86). Minute hand is wider and handset are more glossy colour. Swiss made is also wider on eary models.
The bezel inserts are different too ..................... Bob.

I can see the obvious differences betwen Laurent B's and Nalu's dial and bezel insert BUT Baden's pic of his watch looks like it has the bezel insert AND dial of the (apparently) later issue shown by Laurent B. To me the font and spacing of the 3-6-9 on Baden's pis look more like those of the later dial. What am I missing here?
Kind regards
Dave
I agree Dave, Baden's watch looks to have the later dial style. Note that the bezel insert on mine is acrylic, so I don't have a good photo of the earlier metal insert style (if there is one).
Very nice example and the pic neatly draws out the texture and profile of this pretty classic timepiece.

PS I like Laurent's pic too, with the issue clasp-knife.
Baden's dial is a later version.
Bob.
Too bad as I have lost this knife in Spain... hopefully kept the CWC RN...

i wear mine swimming as well.
now you have pointed it out i can see the 2 dials. :)
Well my 86 finally came back after 6 months with a new crystal and seals.
I believe that this is original with the acrylic bezel insert and bezel serrations
which are different to the post 86 divers. The dial and minute hand also differ
as does the chapter ring ? which is satin finish on the 83 to 86 version and
more polished on the later ones. Looks very similar to the sm300 dont you think.
Very like the sm300,lovely watch
