I'd agree, looks like he's polished the case and brushed the bracelet in some way.
Hmmm a polished U1 - different, but no thanks.

have looked a U1s a few times myself as well a nice chunky and simple designed watch.Originally Posted by redmond
I quite like the dull grey look how these normally come.

Prefer the real thing, although that polish doesn't look too bad.

It looks Ok but is, nonetheless, wrong :?

while were on whats the lume like
if omega = 8
older sub = 4
sinn ?
There is a wrist shot in his album, super polished sides which is done well but the rest looks poor.
My 556 is a 2.. if that!Originally Posted by redmond

He's modded the finish on that, and I don't like it. The U1 is one of the watches I've sold that I really miss. Simple, robust and just extremely solid feeling.

if its worse then the sub i will passOriginally Posted by minkle
The lume on the U1 I had was pretty solid. Nothing like Omega/Seiko levels, but readable through the night if charged up at bedtime under the bedside light.

thats good news
I like it
I had one of these for a year or so but I didn't wear it as much as it deserved. They're cracking watches and it's probably the only watch I've ever regretted selling.
That looks like the guy knows how to polish stuff.
I've had a U1 for a couple of years now and wear it regularly. The lume is fine. Not out of this world, but fine.

Nick
This Sinn needs to be tegimented, in my opinion. An interesting experiment, but fails to improve the watch for me.

That isn't the U1 I know and love (but do not own... yet). Not a bad watch in it's own right but I wouldn't take a polisher to any of my watches.
+1 for that. The watch is cracking in my opinion in its original form and, but i think the lume is definatley its weak point. I had one of the first ones in the country from Chronomaster. I then sold that and a few years later bought another, same problem !. Now don't get me wrong, Sinn lume is useable but not really as stron as the rest of the watch quality in my opinion........if you want good lume on a dive watch, try a Kemmner Octopus or a Ocean7 Ploprof or perhaps a Zixen for around a similar value.Originally Posted by minkle
Turns the watch into one that looks like yet another diver from the far east. Detracts from the Sinn "style". Not the best of moves in my opinion.
