Plastic Luminox on nato. Very reliable and cheap.
Ok team, show me your gym/running/cycling/swimming/crime fighting watch.
Mine used to be this. Working class hero, Seiko 5 military. It was cheap as they come, light, small and I liked the style. Problem though, the nylon strap started to stink from the sweat and I needed to justify my first G shock purchase. :D
Went for a white GLX5600. Can't praise it enough. Very light and comfortable, nicely sized for my modest wrist and when I'm done I can just clean it up in the shower. :)
I think this could just turn into another G shock thread but I'm hopeful there will be a few oddball choices.

G shock for me sorry (gw3000b)
Don't go to the gym.
I did wear a G Shock Mudman for mountain biking.
ish
the greatest watch ever made

Did some digging on my own - apparently this model is all over eBay and amazon. Amazing you can buy technology like this for $10! I wonder what the original model sold for in the early 80s or so?
Looks like there are some $0.99 fakes on eBay as well - in wild colors.
Nike Triax Fury 100-Lap...
Currently a Polar S720i, that has far too many features I'll ever use
which replaced a S610
I don't wear a watch in the gym, I do a lot of weight training and find it restrictive/uncomfortable. If I could, I'd wear a G-Shock!
Don't wear a watch when running, it would just depress me how slow I am.... :)
I use the Nike GPS watch for running, the Timex Ironman for general training and the GymBoss for intervals.
I prefer the Timex to the G-Shocks I've used because of the larger display and bigger buttons. I've been really pleased with the Nike watch, might not have enough features for some but it's simple to use and has really helped me push myself.
I thought the GymBoss was worth including as I haven't found anything better for intervals.
My gym / outdoor watch is a Casio PAW1300.
Not worn at the gym as such but for any sporting activity it is this
Just waiting for the day it gets twatted by a squash raquet to see how it holds up!
Depends - if I go to the gym after work an i've been wearing this one in the office...
Then it's a quick strap change to this combo...
As I'm not leaving it in the lockers !
No safe queens here, I buy to enjoy.
Having said that, for harder sessions I have a lumi-nox on Velcro strap.
Another vote for the casio.Originally Posted by needmorewatches

Bought from amazon three years ago now, and still going strong on its original battery!
its generally this, even for a heavy weight session, although it has been known for the SD to come along..
Too worried to wear any mechanical watches on my bike/in the pool so my GS-1100 takes one for the team.
G-shock all day!
Just bought this one for use at the gym or out on the mountain bike
Digitals hold zero appeal for me but I wanted something tough like a G-shock, so when this came up I snapped it up straight away. :)
Until now I've been wearing my seiko monster, including for swimming, but I like that watch too much for it to get beaten up. I was considering buying a second one that had already seen some action, if one came up in SC.
Never needed one in the gym as there are clocks in every room and they feel restrictive
I've been wearing my 70s Sea-Gull lately.
Yep, G-shock Riseman for me.Originally Posted by yonsson

Here's mine for gym and mountain biking.

I dont wear a watch to the gym but I really like the look of that white G Shock.
You wear a watch? Why not just use your mobile phone. :wink:Originally Posted by esm

Not the gym, but sporting and diy activities in general
Seiko SBCZ015
it has to be a heartrate monitor for me, but its ugly. Does anyone have an HR they are proud of?
I need to get out more - - a watch for the gym?
I can understand a different coloured dial to go with the shirt and tie for Dancing, but a watch for the gym?

So you can understand a watch for dancing but not for the gym or outdoor sports? :lol:Originally Posted by mel

However, I've worn both of these for cycling, badminton, squash, etc., in the past...
Cheers,
Guy next to me at a cycling class in the gym today had a mint rolex submariner - distracted me greatly :-)
Bought it when we found out we where expecting our second child
This watch gets loads of wrist :!:
This one for me. Great holiday watch too with the second time zone.
My cycling watch.......
i wear all my watches to the gym if its on a nato, if not i don't wear any....
I don't do gyms (it's just money I could be spending on watches) but when I cycle I wear a DW5600 on NATO. Getting those damn adapters on there was a workout in it's own right.
I bought my G-Shock GW-M5600-1ER specifically for the gym and it seems to be getting more wrist time every week too.
normally I don't wear one but I have a beaten up seiko monster that would fit the bill if needed!
Having started back in the gym recently i take my gshock with me....easy to clean in the shower after too!!! :)
I freaking hate G-Shock. Hate gyms too. So I guess the two make a good combination.
