That looks like a real triumph, Eddie. Very pretty thing, and nice to see it come to fruition finally. Looking forward to grabbing one when I can afford to.

Number 29 has landed this afternoon and I would like to thank you Eddie for the service.
She is beautiful and is for sure a milestone in the Precista range.
She sits very confortably on my 7 inch wrist, here is a Q&D pic taken with my phone this afternoon

Eddie's open for business so my CAF has been ordered. Exchange rate is a killer but worth it to get this great looking watch.

Is the sub-second area recessed or flush with the dial?

I can't tell from any posted pictures so it would be great if someone could clarify this detail for me..
    Thanks..

The sub-second dial looks to be flush with the rest of the dial.

According to my old man eyes :)

    Re: CAF update

Just received a despatch note for my PRS-9.

I'm going to wear mine on black leather, though - while I really like what I have seen of the original strap yet (looks very period and oozes quality), I do not think I would like it on me. Even though I am aware that brown is the new black, I still prefer the old black 8)

A black leather strap from a provider here in Germany is ordered as well, of course, and I am really looking forward to have both on my wrist. :bounce:

    Re: CAF update

As to straps, I was discussing that with Dapper the other day.... I think these might look good:

The problem I see with these is that, according to the seller, the minimum length they go is 13cms, so on a watch that has the springbars 50mm apart and down on the wrist, you'll probably need 20cms wrists just to be on safe side... 7.9 inches  I'm probably doing the Math wrong, the info is incorrect or most people can only wear these on small watches, which makes no sense as they are 24mm lug straps...

Zeno used to to do something like this and to be honest, they made a good dog collar.

The black one looks very nice, but the price -- 55 EUR  For someone who can still very much remember the D-Mark, that is more than one hundred in real money, as we say.

Unless someone wants to trade me one for my original strap, I probably would not get me one.

What do you mean? I've always been curious about them but never got one... these taper to 22mm (which I think it's important for the CAF or else you'll end up with a very large strap for a watch that isn't huge) but I guess you mean they are too thick with all the overlapping layers of leather? Or is it the thing I was pointing out - maybe they are too long?

Well, another piece landed in Czech republic! I wanted to take it to local military aircraft museum to make some photos but they dared to be closed when I got there. Overall, the quality looks great and even though it is not exactly the type of watch I usually like, I think this will be a keeper, thanks Eddie for thinking about Czechoslovak pilots :) I am very impressed with the overall service and packaging too. Next in line, PRS-29B.

Only one minor, very unimportant thing, on the wooden box (nice touch btw), there is a writing "Majetek vojneské spravy" but there is a missing...I have no idea how to call it in english...well, there should be "správy". I just wanted to point it out (help actually) if you will be making more of these boxes. The difference is like between "argh" and "aargh", "á" is pronounced a bit longer (I could not think of better word for comparison :)
You can see it on this watch for example:

Thank you for the spelling correction  . I really did do my research on this and copied the text from a website I expected to get it right.

Upon investigation, the Precista is closer to the original Longines and it is the Zeno that has the wider and more pronounced bezel. I'd say that most of the time, it is hard to notice that there is a grooved bezel on the Precista.

It took me ages to get used to the hands of the Zeno. But eventually I did. The dial of the Zeno is higher in the case (remember, there is whole level missing) than the Precista. I reckon the Zeno would look ok with cathedrals. The biggest letdown of the Zeno was the mineral crystal, even tho it disguised itself well with a gentle dome. My feeling is that hands of the Zeno were 'lifted' from the GP 9012 split-second chrono which is very CAF-esque (or Zeno-ish to be more exact :D ).

I love the way the hands of the Precista 'shine'. Mr Platts, are the hands chrome-plated or polished steel?
