Oooooh I want one now.
Well, even with all his cash he sticks with a Deepsea, that's got to say something about the desirability of the model -

Oooooh I want one now.
It does - it speaks volumes.
A watch bought by people like Beckham.
Not for me then. Sorry.
not to worried about what david beckam wears but thanks for the link as i hadn't visisted jakes site in a long time!!!
cheers

I'm dubious. He's described variously as the "Greatest Soccer Player" and "David Beckhman". Greatest compared to what? To whom?
That right there devalues the article for me. It also makes me question whether this is indicative of the greatness of the watch. Don't get me wrong, the watch is fine but I don't think this article or Beckhman's ownership prove anything...
Hmmm.
The indicies look dodgy.
I'm calling fake.
I've even PMd him telling him so.
It is from 2009 so I suppose it was the newest watch there and then.
I imagine he has summat else now. He may even put it on his left hand.
An earlier mistake...
The article linked is dated December 2009.
Rolex probably gave him it
Mistakes or not I wouldn't mind being a pound behind him

It's a pity most of the other England players didn't have as much pride or passion playing for their country.

It was/is a harmless link -it was not meant to be a style indicator to good taste, merely he can afford any watch in the world but wears a Deepsea....
however it has to be said he's got 100 times more taste in watches than Christiano Ronaldo's big gold 4 dial monster....
I'm sure he'll post pictures of boxes and stuff when he knows some Big Time Charlie has put hundred quid on the line. :roll:Originally Posted by al1991

I was taking the mickey out of the Deepsea appreciation thread, not of David Beckham or his achievements. The lad is a legend.Originally Posted by farmkid
No offence meant OP, he likes watches and he has a few, a number of which are Rolex and others too. Some may be cheaper, some more expensive. Some are worn to compliment his current style, some because the likes them.
But the link was to a Rolex site, so unlikely to show him wearing his PP and it was over 18 months ago.
PS: I think the DSSD is a great watch 8)

Show some balls - and give £100 to charity - by proving me wrong.
Yes I agree with this,I doubt he has had to buy many watches lately though.Originally Posted by farmkid

David has good taste in watches but he is also a decent chap in my opinion. I expect he bought his own rolex or it was a present from friend or family.

Yeah right. He went into a shop and asked for a Rolex. That's probably just a safe bet - if you have no taste, go for the well known brand. I have no taste in clothing (I'll assume, since I don't care), so if I needed, say, a smart suit I'd buy one from Dolce & Prada or something like that.Originally Posted by farmkid
That Ronaldo bloke at least made an effort (and failed miserably). Come on, you can't be that strict with them. They're footballers.
OK, point well made- tomorrow instead of wearing jeans I'll wear my yellow chinos to prove I've got taste
I can't understand why there is such a dislike of David Beckham he seems like a decent guy he spends time with his kids and does a lot of work for charity and was always passionate about playing for his country.
Yes he has earned a lot of money by endorsements and playing football but maybe he is just a watch guy like us!! Give the guy a break he picked a deepsea not a Yacht-Master 2!!

Well, one things for sure....it isn't a pressie from her indoors ! It would probably be a Bi metal and diamond monstrosity if it were. She really was a mistake and if he'd married someone like ............anyone else really, he would have been far more loved in this country.
Still, as I told my Mrs this morning, you can't help who you fall in love with, no matter how much you dislike them. It is our 11th anniversary and I was feeling romantic :blackeye:
What will be next?
His stickinsect of a wife wearing the Deepsea as well?
It's far to big for his girly wrists :D .

He has the nice lady, the watches, the cars, the houses...
I have my second wife, only a few...watches, one car, one house (and a summerhouse though.)
But than again, I have never been good in soccer :-)

I love the DSSD and it won't influence my decision to buy and wear it just because famous knobheads wear the same model... loads of idiots like Nicky Hilton, Jessica Simpson etc wear Milgauss, Daytona, Subs etc etc and it hasn't deterred me from owning the same models..
some people just buy because of the stigma that comes with owning a Rolex... reminds me of a guy at work.. I commented on his watch "hey, nice Daytona", to which he replied, "no, it's a Rolex!"
here are a few shots of the DSSD... 8)
Just to mix it up a little, did anyone else clock Zara Tindall (nee Phillips) sporting a DSSD in yesterdays Daily Telegraph article? I know she's a Rolex ambassador but it did look rather good . . .

Oh my god what am I a cool guy with my stealthy MM300, the choice for the real WIS/man :D

Really don't get why this thread had to go in this direction. David beckham's done lots for charity and it's a nice watch so that's all I see out of it.
