Just received a revised quote of £9150 for up to 6 implants in my upper jaw (two more than originally quoted for) onto which a retained bridge will be fitted covering teeth 12 to 26 (that's upper right front 11 and 12 ... and upper left front 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26) But implant specialist says I may also need more implants at 13 to to 17 - exact number to be discussed - plus I need up to 4 more implants in lower right jaw -but hope that 3 might suffice in the lower jaw.

All this work is not just because of cracked roots but also because of over 20 years heavy smoking (40 plus fags per day) and all the chemicals in the smoke which compromise gum tissue causing gum recession ... ... When I smoked progressive gum recession was noticeable especially where dental crowns were fitted. After I quit smoking I noticed there was no further gum recession especially when crowns were replaced but the damage had probably already been done.
