Good work in bringing this one 'back from the dead'.
I was after this watch for long time, but either I didn't find one in good condition, or the price was too high, or just spent the money on another watch...
By the way, several weeks ago I caught one on the bay for about half price than usual, but needed service.
I took the risk and bought the watch quickly by judging the aesthetic condition on this image...
Fortunately the watch arrived in good and promising ashape
Following some part exchange, a complete cleaning and oiling, and a bit of polywatch the old W10 looks pretty nice and running strong (power reserve 40 hours).
All together I'm very happy that I could menage to bring to life this beauty again.

That's a beauty. Lovely patina on there dial and hands.
Agreed, that is a delight to see restored to use.
That looks really good witti, well done, unfortunately I do not have the patience or the skill to do that.

Lovelly watch!

A remarkable transformation, doesn't look like the same watch. Job well done and the strap is a good match too.
That's a great job indeed!
Those pieces deserve to be rescued :)
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Nice watch. It looks very tidy.
Best wishes,
Bob
Great Job on an iconic piece.
Nice rescue. Does it hack (the usual problem with the Smiths movement)? I have a couple and only one of them hacks.
Looks cool, well done :)

Cracking transformation, lovely watch.

Beautiful British watch, well done.
Could I ask what a decent price for those in 90% condition and serviced could be ?, I know a watchmaker who has one but I think the prie is a bit steep...

Beautiful!
Around GBP300 - 350.Originally Posted by pulga69

Thanks for all the kind words guys. :)
Thanks, hack function works well luckily.Originally Posted by RABbit
There was one on here not that long ago for around £200 - looked to be in good condition as well. Unsurprisingly, it was on SC for about 3 seconds before being marked OHPF. I PMd as soon as I saw it, but was one of many. Still, the PRS-29A isn't a bad substitute.Originally Posted by RABbit
Broadly speaking though, the above is (from what I've seen) a fairly typical price.
Congrats on a lovely english time piece. What parts did you replace to get it working?Originally Posted by witti
My English vocabulary for watch parts is really poor, so just try to copy them:Originally Posted by AndySquirrel
Broken click/click spring, bolt spring and centre seconds pinion.
