that looks really really good mate. well done!
About a year ago I was able to get my hands on a new Seiko Sumo case. I always wanted a Sumo but never really had enough cash to afford one. When I got this I was off to a great project, I told myself. I then got an original Seiko 6r15 movement and since I could not get the original Seiko Sumo dial and hands, I resorted to the next best thing, the Seiko Marine Master dial and hands. This did not cost any less really but since I bought the parts staggered in a period of a couple of months, I was able to finance them.
I was happy for a bit but then I got bored... I wanted a change. I tried some more classic hands, the ones from the Seiko Alpinist earlier version. I liked them but the lume was a little weaker then the monster lume of the dial markers. This was visible after exposing the watch to the sun for a few minutes, and I became annoyed. But in my search I could not find any other Seiko or aftermarket hands that I liked, that would fit and that were as bright as the hour markers of the dial. Until I decided to do something that probably noone else had done. I got a set of original Omega Planet Ocean hands. I had this in mind for a while since I kind of like the Planet Ocean, but of course it's priced light years over my meager budget.
Anyway, after almost one month of wait, I got these in and promptly popped them on. Nice... and the lume is essentially the same, a little brighter at the beginning and fading a little quicker after a bit, but the difference is very minute and hardly visible, I was happy. A new custom was born, the Seiko Sumo Marine Master Broad Arrow...
And here are some pics, sorry for my amateurish attempt, the dust specs etc. but I hope you enjoy.

Respect the past, live the present, protect the future
I'm not usually one for mods but that really is the business. Great result and wouldnt mind one myself!!
Thank you very much for the kind words. I got the Marine Master dial from Rob at Monster watches NL. These come up once in a while on the forums too (Seiko forum).
very cool, well done & thanks for sharing
how does the dial fit- are the feet in the same place please?
Looks very well.
Very nice mate, love it :!:
That all looks as if it has come straight from a factory, works vey well, well done.
Stunning, and nice pics. Good piece of creative work. I'd like one of those myself (funds lacking tho)
I really enjoy the looks of it. Great Mod :-)

Looks the mutts nuts! Let me have first refusal if you decide to sell! :D
That is very nice and looks as if it was all meant to be. Very subtle, very well done.
Thank you all for the very kind words. I have not had a chance to log on here sooner and answer this so I am doing it now.
I consider this my masterpiece... :thumbright: until the next one...
Nice mods. I'd not thought about Omega hands before.
Love it!
Good work, the lume match is awesome. I am aware that the hands from Omega calibre 2500 (hour and minute hands)fit seiko 7s26 movements but have not actually seen it done.Until now.!!!!
I keep coming back to look at this one. It's just so very nice.
very nice
Really nice.
Can I ask where you sourced the Omega hands from, and the cost? Complicated to fit? I'd have to get a watchmaker to do it for me, so wonder what they'd charge?
Thanks
That is a great looking watch mate
Good choice
Very very nice looking mod.....
Thank you very much for the very kind words... :)
Surprisingly successful combo, well done
Lovely :)
SUPERB
Well done!
My first contribution on M&W but have to say that is a nice idea, very well executed. As others have said, it is subtle and balanced.
Best lookin' Sumo ever!
Excellent idea and beautiful realization... Really superb upgrade of nice watch!
Very well done, nice end result!
I've always been a bit hit and miss with the Sumo, but that's really nice - good job!
With that title I was expecting something ridiculous but that is very nice, nothing looks out of place at all.
Really interesting piece :) love it !
Well done, that looks beautiful, as though it came off the shelf like that.
That looks great, very subtle but looks like its meant to be. 8)
