Nobody judges anybody.
(Well I do, I think Simon is a selfish git as he won't give me his Tuna! ;) )
Bring all you have, probably not seen a few of them which is always good.
This is murder. I don't normally think twice about what watch I'm going to wear, I simply pick-up one that I 'feel' like wearing. And usually I don't make a habit of drawing attention to my watch, I wear my watch for myself, and can quite merrily wear it all day without anyone else seeing/noticing/asking about it. But you can't adopt this approach when you know you're about to be judged by your peers, by your wristwatch!!!!!
Having to give some serious thought to the subject of what watch to wear is what I'm struggling with. Much of my collection is 'quirky'. I buy watches for many different reasons, some of my favourites are my favorites simply because of the technology they employ. Others because of the features they can cram in, world-timers, Tissot T-touch technology, etc. I've got a Phosphor E-ink watch I bought because of the display type. Kinetic, tuning fork, electric, quartz, manual, automatic watches. Led watches? Well you have to have at least a couple in any collection don't you? Then of course there are the 'posh' watches, I don't mean supposed posh brands, I mean your dress watches and the gold, silver (and if you're really wealthy platinum) type watches. Or I could go for interesting and timeless (so long as you're still living in the 1980s) and wear one of my Tissot Rock or Wood watches?
Yep, I know whats going to happen here. I'll take the next week and a half dithering, then grab the one I 'fancy' wearing in a mad rush on the Sunday morning because I've stayed up too late Saturday night playing Lord of the Rings Online and left too little time to get there. Lets hope its at least got the time set correctly. :bounce:

You intending to come Mike? I'll put you on the list (or you can do that yourself).
thanks for the PM, starting to look forward to this, whats the lunch menu like traditional food or specialties,
Mark
Hopefully I have sent a confirmatory PM to all wishing to attend the MC GTG. The venue is revealed therein, as is the timetable.
If you have indicated that you wish to attend, or are considering attending, contact me up to this coming Saturday (18th June) or michalko82 from Sunday onwards.
All received, thanks for organising this Alec.Originally Posted by unclealec
Have a nice break, and a Friday bump for the GTG thread.
Another bump for another weekend crowd.
Would anyone like to see the Tag edge that was never released. ?
Or an old SEL Chrono ?
Not seen either. I'm hoping to have a Seiko Avenue to set the standard for tacky.
Last bump from me. I have heard that quite a few are hovering but unsure if they will be available.
Don't forget - Michalko82 has the venue details and will PM on request; also Feenix.
See you there.
Sod this !! Come to Leeds Sat 25th !!! With 'Special celebrity guest' !!!
Saturdays must be the crappest day ever to hold a GTG. :(Originally Posted by Chartman69

Hard work you people
I have other things planned too, but not changing my mind on the 'last minute'.
Still coming, but has the time changed? :? Not sure I can do midnight Saturday. In fact I KNOW I can't.
But if it's midnight Sunday...nope, still can't do it.
Is it still, therefore, 11am @ Venue 1 and 12pm at Venue 2. Or has the first meeting place been cancelled?
Cheers
Ant
Well I'm still in.
And if my Omega sells I might even be able to eat, rather than sit in the corner drooling while everyone else scoffs chips!
I'm hopping on the train I think. The station at Westhoughton is a stones throw from my house, only takes half an hour into Manchester and means I can have a couple of beers.
Ok, a couple of gallons...
I'll be winding my way down to CP1 at 11 am then Zulu over to ven 2, assuming clearance @ VCP

You (and Michael) do realise some things are more important than watches right? :roll:Originally Posted by Volvomanuk

Hope to join you after the Haydock Watch Fair.... figuring some time between 12-1pm.
Is there on-street parking near the second venue?
:)
There are parking spaces around Diensgate and parking on Sunday is free.
Is there anywhere safe to leave a motorbike parked up to attend?
It's just a matter of time...

lol - you not attending due to lack of room then? ;)Originally Posted by alexaff
If I get the chance, it might be good to pop along - there is a 50:50 chance I'll be in the UK for the weekend, an excuse to grab a pub lunch and chill out before heading back might be on the cards.

No mate, I'm not attending the Manchester one. I'm at the Yorkshire one on Saturday.Originally Posted by alexaff
I only agreed to it because Chartman has no friends and now I'm committed, but can't do a full sesh this time.
We need to organise a proper GTG soon. No watches, just a good old knees up 8)
Count me in! 8)Originally Posted by burnsey66

So...
Is there secure parking for a motorbike nearby? As I will be in the UK and although I'll be a bit far away from Manchester I will be heading to Liverpool later to get the ferry so could possibly put in for a pint.
It's just a matter of time...
http://www.manchester.gov.uk/info/20007 ... orcycles/1
all of them are cca 5-10 mins walk from the venue.
If i,m coming on mine its going at the front or even on the towpath
There is dedicated free bike parking (but maybe not secure) right across the road from the venue.Originally Posted by Omegamanic
In terms of more secure parking there is plenty of NCP and other private carparks, depending on how secure/budget.
I'd recommend Bauer Millet specialist cars who are very near the venue and have a undercover car park behind their showroom called park avenue.
http://www.parkavenueparking.co.uk/ Think it's about £5 though.
Hope this helps. - If you want anymore info then PM me.
3 days to go :bounce:
I'm interested if I can get a pass !!! If you don't mind a new guy.
