    Stolen Rolex and Omega Watches

Hey Guys thought I'd add to this section

Had a break-in back in December 2010. Had the following stolen:

Rolex GMTiic 116710, box stolen but papers not. Serial No: V736844
Omega Seamaster Automatic 300m Co-Axial 212.30.41.20.01.002, box and papers not stolen: Serial No: 81958037

Both watches are SS with the GMT obviously having a black ceramic bezel. The Omega again has a black bezel.

Not expecting big things but thought i'd try anyway!

As a side note, wouldn't it be better if those members posting a stolen watch included info about whether the box and papers were also stolen, or just the naked watch? I know the chances of these watches being offered to forum members are very slim, but it's always possible.

It's a reasonable suggestion and one I will gladly cater to :)

Yes. The chances of the watch appearing HERE are slim, but how many of us look in a pawn brokers window, go in, try on...?

From there, a call to the local police would be good.

    Mike.

PS: @ "DC Hogan": Will you check that these are recorded on PNC?.. Doing it twice is better than nonce.

    Keep that hope alive Qwerty.

I had a dozen or so watches stolen last year and six months later the police traced me through the Rolex which had been found buried under a hedge.
I got back the top 5 most expensive watches stolen - presumably because they couldn't be shifted quickly down the pub.

I take it you've reported the Rolex stolen at an AD?

    That's good to hear!

And no, haven't reported it stolen to an AD but gave the serial number to the police and reported it to Rolex's stolen register. Lets hope they turn up one day!

Only quickly scan-read this thread - have you registered your losses with The Watch Register?

    Almost 13 years.

I do wonder who ended up with my stolen watches, do they still exist or were they scrapped for parts?

There is no way of knowing but when i was younger back in about 2003 I was offered a stolen Rolex ( I said no of course )

The impression i got was they were being sold among friends or trusted people and I think he was trying to bring me into that world but i was having none of it.

FFS, you had your mass-produced, Swiss wrist-bangles stolen 13 years ago. Move on.

You must have more important things in your life to be concerned about? Or maybe not, which would be sad

My day will be fine because I’m not losing sleep over the loss of an inanimate object more than a decade ago.

It’s not a missing child, it’s a feckin’ watch. Get over it!

    Happy Easter

After 13 years I can finally sleep because you told me to. Thank you internet stranger.

    Happy Easter.

Reporting back. I tried my hardest but sleep escaped me. The serial numbers of the watches just kept going through my mind.

Got any other tips for me?
