No it's a cats life!
But you got up early to take pictures of your cat?
Oh my ....
This cats...
But my dog isnt very much better
deffo a tough life !
Nice cat, but I can't do such things I have a 10 mile run early Sunday mornings :)
Can't do that, have to get up and feed the cat...
I can't decide whether to get a cat or a hamster.
Cat would be great - lap cuddles, keep you company in the house and garden.
Hamster would be great - awake at the same hours as me, super cute, hilarious to watch running around. Can have great personalities.
Cat would be bad - can be moody, might not like laps, might be asleep/out all day. Might attack our chickens.
Hamster would be bad - might bite, will eat carpets, they spend their entire lives trying to escape.
We're both out during the day, no time to walk it, and I can't handle (literally) poo.Originally Posted by learningtofly
My memory of when I was a youngster and we had lots of cats and chickens and lived in the country is that the cats weren't interested in chickens - too big and mob mentality from the chickens and cockerel made it too much like hard work for them. As country cats they were far more interested in rabbits.Originally Posted by HenPecked

Yeah, the chickens currently hold their own against the neighbourhood cats, but I'm just worried with them all being in such close proximity...Originally Posted by SimonH
I really do want a cat, just worried about the commitment really. How much is cat insurance these days?
Get a cat, brilliant things, and god do I miss my old ones. The wife has even suggested getting another  might have to get my daughter an extra birthday present :D

Ah yes, then you can use the old "it's your cat, YOU clean it up" argument... :mrgreen:Originally Posted by WORKSIMON

This is right, my Mother has 5 chickens and 4 cats. The cats show no interest in chickens whatsoever.Originally Posted by SimonH

If you do get a cat please be aware that his cat poo is likely to find it's way into your neigbours gardens. If they are keen gardeners they will not be happy. All it takes is a litter tray in your own house and a little training.
I swear some cat owners don't realise that their cats ever do a poo.
