Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Like the bunnies one, some I hadn't seen before there

Calvin and Hobbes, Bloom County, and The Far Side were my favorite comics when I was a kid. I look throught the Saturday newspaper now and I don't see a lot that I like. Get Fuzzy and The Boondocks are the two I really like.
Bloom County and the Far Side! :DOriginally Posted by Grath
You still see Far Side stuff around, but at least in the UK, Bloom County was not well known. I have a Bloom County Classics book on a shelf nearby which I shall now head towards for amusement...

I looked on line, but couldn't find any scans of Calvin's "mutant killer monster snow goons" where the snowman comes to life and adds another head to itself and an extra arm, and starts to create other snowmen, eventually ending with an army of mutant snowmen that are all out to get Calvin.
I especially like the end where he defeats them by spraying them with water from a hose, causing them to freeze stiff. Of course dad walks out of the house, and the whole yard and walkway are a frozen slick ice rink, and slips and falls. "CALVIN!!!!!" :D

It's that time of year again so I thought I'd give this a bump.
Time for my Christmas 2007 bump.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Excellent :D :D
/vince ..
Brilliant! If doubt there has ever been a better cartoonist than Bill Watterson - even the likes of Gary Larson or perhaps Scott Adams.
I think I have the whole Calvin & Hobbes collection at my parents house. I'll have to dig them out and re-read them when I'm there around Christmas!
LMFAO!!
It's time for the yearly bump.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Wonderful! Thanks.
Best wishes,
Bob
Just laughed my head off - cheers!
Time to dig the Calvin and Hobbes books out again, methinks!

And again.... just brilliant!
You lot know Edward Gorey?
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
Calvin and Hobbes is my all-time favorite strip and now I have my kids reading the books too.
Thanks for the re-run :D I always wondered why Watterson stopped C&H when the world was ready for more, but maybe his work explained why?
You misspelled "Weltanschauung"

Time for the yearly bump.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Here's hoping 2010 will be a better year!
I have got a Calvin and Hobbes book virtually every Christmas since I have known my wife (except for the odd Garfield) Brilliant :D :D :D
Cheers
