Mike, whilst I admire your collection I cannot help but have the feeling that sometimes thou doth protest (or pronounce) too much.
Evolution, as we know it!!
Some gaps, but not even Darwin got it quite right!

They all look the same to me ;)
It's just a matter of time...
wot no 12? :)
Galapagos Rolex - stunning!
“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
Survival of the fittest? Unlike any other brand in history, Rolex is immune to that (driving) aspect of evolution - every lucky mutation (shoddy glazes and dials, for example) is treated with a reverence that beggars belief. I appreciate your exquisite collection - but retrospective designation of errors as collectible items is the best example of shilling I've ever seen and bears no connection to evolution in its original (and intended) meaning. I'm probably wrong of course. But for me, this isn't evolution; just clever marketing...

"I looked with pity not untinged with scorn upon these trivial-minded passers-by"
Wow...stunning collection. On the other hand...it's an illness
No 16800? Can it really be that I own a Sub that Mike doesn't?
Awaits the inevitable response that he has half a dozen and uses them mostly whilst gardening and changing the oil in his car :(
Mike, great pictures - it reminds me a bit of the story of Porsche from the 901 right up to the 997. Evolution not revolution spread over 50 years - hence we end up with iconic classics.
Notice you are missing a 16800 and a 16660 for some strange reason :D I can help if required.
Might even swap you the 5514 :?
All the best andy

Very impressive (and very brave to display all your wares so publicly on the internet if I may say so).
TTPS.
Mr. Wood, im quite disappointed that with all the Subs you have there (im sure you still have few others somewhere...), you are skimping on the size of the watchbox.... :albino: :lol:Originally Posted by Mike Wood
good to have a passion for it, personally Id only want the one from that box

How do you decide which one to wear for the day?
Why would you have 13 examples of basically the same watch ?!?
That is truely a sickness.
For me not even an interesting watch.
Each to their own though, especially if they make you happy/fill a need.
Congratulations on an amazing collection.
If I could choose one, I think it'd take me about a week to make my mind up.
Amazing pics as ever Mr. Wood. 8)
I could sit down for a whole day with that box just admiring,
feeling and examing the history of the most iconic dive watch
probably ever made 8)
surely it is time for Mr Wood to offer one of the famous TZ freebies?
Smartarse.
They are not the same, different cases, dials, movements ( although I believe he has a lot more than 13)Originally Posted by nesima

Well said Neil. The focus of MW's collections are outstanding. For me, I can relate to thematic collecting, as opposed to 'scatter gun' collecting - BUT it's all down to personal choice! :)
