A very bad challenge on Arshavin by Barton went completely unnoticed by Dowd. Diaby was an idiot and deserved the red, but the challenge that led to his dismissal deserved at least a yellow - I've seen reds given for less than that. Nolan's attack on Szczesny was equally as bad as Diaby's lashing out, yet only merited a yellow.

A penalty given against Arsenal in the 83rd minute that quite clearly should have not been a penalty.

At least it provided good cheer for the Toon Army in what would have been a very depressing week for them otherwise.

This must have been the best weekend in the permiership all season, it had everything, bottom beating top, goals galore, leads thrown away, penalty drama's, contraversial decisions and not to mention the start for new players as the first match after the transfer window

A good few pints afterwards and Daddel and friends couldn't complain.
This gives a taste for seeing a match more often I guess..........
