    Bit morbid maybe...

But someone just asked me which of my many watches I intend to be buried in. Actually, as I intend to be cremated that complicates the issue slightly - lithium batteries dont like that sort of thing ;)

I think I have settled on this because it is of no particular value and I don't think anyone else would particularly want it...

So, let's see your choices ;)

I'd especially buy a Marcello C. fort the occasion, because they only deserve to BURN, baby BURN

Actually I have left instruction to be buried wearing a G-Shock and two items that I found when I was younger and did a bit of metal-detecting, which are a bronze-age axe-head and a Roman Coin. ... To be honest I think that's going to confuse the hell out of any future archaeologist who decides to dig me up ! ...

They can do with my carcass as they see fit - I certainly don't expect it to be adorned with anything.

Put a 'phone in as well and put a note in the will that someone should ring the number just as you are lowered

I'm a bit big to be buried in a watch. I'm just going to go with the bog standard coffin arrangement.

When you meet the Big Man upstairs, surely you should be wearing an Alpha and an Omega?

Absolutely none. Leaving them to my children.

I might get one of these monstrosities for the big event. Very befitting.

I would hope that my watches are nice enough for my kids/grandkids to want to inherit them. So I think that's where they'll all go.

Considering the amount of vintage watches sold on ebay that belonged to recently departed parents, uncles, friends and had been recently "Found" I don't think being buried in any watch is something to worry about. I am sure there is an ebay seller somewhere ready to strip your still warm corpse of anything of value.

    Quite.

I've thought about this and on reflection it's probably better not to enter into any kind of competition with a monotheistic deity.

I have no intention of dying whatsoever...has to be a first time for everything.

However I'd much rather any watches I left behind were strapped to the wrists of living people who might cherish them and remember me...preferably many mysterious exotic women who turned up without warning at the graveside shrieking hysterically at my passing.

Would certainly put the wind up the missus anyhoo.

^Now that is an interesting thought.

    Which watch would God wear?

After all, according to William Paley, he is a watchmaker...

No watch. I'm leaving them all to my kids.

My go-to watchmaker wears a 70s Constellation, though he has a few others. My local guy wears a 70s Rolex diver.

God* though... must wear a G. Daniels. I guess they would have much to talk about.

I will leave all the interesting and "valuable" ones to whomever, but the Seastar cost me 9 CHF... I don't think anyone would begrudge me that ;)

I'm going to have all of my Rolex's on my left wrist, and all of my Omega's on my right.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not really wanting to take all of my watches to the after-life, but if there's one thing which will convince people to dig me up after I've been buried a short amount of time, it's the prospect of some decent Swiss for the taking, so if I've accidentally been buried whilst still alive, at least I know I'm only there for a finite (and brief) time :)

Couldn't agree more. My wife asked if I wanted to buried or cremated and I said I genuinely didn't care as I will be dead.

Whatever I'm wearing when I die I suppose - I can't imagine leaving instructions in my will for some poor sod to root through my watches, find the exact one I've specified and strap it on. Weird. And judging by my friends/family, they'd only end up choosing the wrong watch anyway.

Not being an ancient Egyptian god-king, and not believing in any form of fairytale afterlife, I wont be ask to be buried/cremated with any of my earthly wealth.
My relatives can do with it whatever makes them feel better however.
I join the rational posters on here in saying that it wont really matter to me, as I will be quite dead.

As it seems I will be reduced to component parts in the fury of World War Three, then whatever watch I'm wearing at the time. If they find my wrist.

Probability and Game Theory suggest we lose only by assuming there is no afterlife - we only win if we assume / believe there is an afterlife and plan for it ;)

Nor do I - that would be silly. I do, of course, ask after his wife...

I wouldn't want to be wearing a watch, the thought of someone strapping a watch to my cold dead wrist is a bit grim.
