    Heuer Autavia

I shall post in the WTB, but can anyone recommend a reliable source for a 1960/70's Autavia other than Heuerboy (with whom I have already lodged an enquiry)? Thanks.

Tends to be on the expensive side but his watches are immaculate. Also have a look here:

I would be happy to help. Take a look at my site http://www.heuerworld.com and let me know if there is anything of interest. I am looking to slim the herd (New Years resolution). You could always post a WTB on the chronocentric forum aka OnTheDash.

Paul, what a great website. Some beautiful pieces there. I particularly like the Jo Sifferts, but the orange accents on certain of the watches is also very appealing.

    Paul,

Are you able to post prices with your watches?

    Thanks,

Paul, that is really a terrific website. It just works! The layout is simple, yet elegant and sophisticated, and the navigation is so simple and effective that the fantastic content is at one's fingertips at all times. I've bookmarked it and will be back often to look at your fantastic photos, and not just the watches! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the warm welcome and the kind comments on my web site. Photography and watches go hand in hand and I have had emence fun combining the two interests to produce the web site which is more of a glossy representation than a simple record. I am continuing with this project and trying new lighting set-ups which is the key to a successful shot and will post here as and when they are complete.
    Best regards

Mark - this is my personal collection and although I may sell or trade the odd piece I am not soliciting for business. I welcome all enquiries include those who want to buy and may well decline on at least 60% of the watches which I could not contemplate selling at this time.

OK, an additional question, should one go for the movement (eg the Val 72) when selecting one of these or the model of personal choice - for me, I love the Jo Siffert. Advice for a Heuer vintage newbie much appreciated. I should add, my budget is in the region of £1,900.

Skyman, I don't think there is a hard and fast rule. I love the Valjoux 72, but that movement is only available in early Autavia's. The models that are best known (The Siffert and the Viceroy for example) both have the Chronomatic Calibre 11/ 12.

The later Autavia style does come with a Valjoux manual- but its a Valjoux 7734.

Personally, I'd pick the model you want and then the movement second, but its really a personal choice.

    Paul, once again, great photos
