lovely collection. :thumbright:
A Sagarmatha saga :D I present the rare SBDW003.
Titanium case, Ceramic bezel (13 years ago  ), extending clasp. Nice 8) Shares a number of elements with a few other relations......
Group shot with the family members  one Grand, three Masters
Happy Days :)
lovely collection. :thumbright:
But if you get lost, you can borrow my own little Titanium newbie.
GREAT collection there Jay :D
Wonderful!!!
You Sir have style and mostly great taste.
Really like the look of that titanium case on the Landmaster. The bezel is cool too.
regards,
Nick
Cheers, the dial is particularly nice. Emerald green in the sun changing to black when shaded, the green also (depending on the wrist position) can cover the whole dial or ever decreasing to just a small circle in the middle.Originally Posted by learningtofly
Was serviced prior to my ownership so unfortunately can't comment on the timescale.
And thanks for the kind comment on the collection, I love them and they put a huge smile on my face :D

Little  :D But 8) 8) nevertheless.Originally Posted by burnsey66

That picture comparison is just the ticket, i've always wanted one of those particular Landmasters,
Now, knowing that it's not too overly big, i want one even more 8)
It's very nicely sized and wears considerably smaller than the others it's 40mm. Here's a shot on my 6.75" wrist.Originally Posted by kiki-picasso
Excellent Jay, thanks 8)
I missed out on one a while ago from a dealer in Hong Kong, should have just bought it, i've kicked myself ever since :drunken:
Very nice set Jay! Did you get anywhere with the SBDX003?
Sanj :)
Very nice timepiece. 8)
But the bezel is ceramic? With those raised numerals & indices it certainly fooled me.

Hi Sanjay. No, not yet.....but i like to think good things come to those who wait :lol:Originally Posted by sparmar1
Cheers Ralphy. It's certainly doesn't look like the ceramic of recent years - like the new Ceramic Subs and my GS Diver which have the very polished almost glass like surface. But yes, it's definitely a ceramic of some description! At least according to the Seiko manual and various sources :lol:Originally Posted by ralphy
Hi
The Saga is a lovely watch... seen a few of them on the flesh and there really are cool.
Thanks

Nice catch, Jay, it looks brilliant and is great addition to your increasingly impressive Seiko collection :)
if anyone didnt know and was wondering , sagarmatha is one of the nepalese names of mt. everest
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Great new addition Jay, what does the saga do ? Never seen or heard of one before..
Wonderfull piece, and lovely dial 8)
Did it come from Finland?
Cheers,
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Thanks Bob :)Originally Posted by Stanford

Hi Neil. What does it do? Sits on the wrist and looks good :lol:Originally Posted by Flashharry
It's part of the Landmaster series of watches that came out of Seiko's original Fieldmaster series which, at least the original ones i think, IIRC were based on the Arnie. The fieldmasters came out of Seiko making a rugged explorers type watch which needed certain attributes (in the case of the Saga.....light - hence the titanium, hardwearing - hence the inclusion of ceramic) and then when discontinued Seiko released the Landmaster as a follow up.
This one is from '98.

Fantastic collection! The Sagamartha is a beauty.
Great collection!
How does the GS Diver wear on your wrist? I haven't tried one on but have pretty much ruled it out as it's quite a big watch.
Although I should be able to try one on at Jura reasonably soon.
never saw a dial like this B4...thanks!
That is a beautiful watch! I love titanium, and the dial is sublime. Thanks for the group shots as well- very useful. Did it take you a long time to find this?
Does the bezel just have enough friction to move easily but also stay in place?
Bye the way, it looks way, way too small on your wrist. It would fit mine perfectly. :) Cheers.

Congratulations with the collection!
You can also find more about them in the Seikoholics database.
Lovely Sagarmatha - the recent Landmaster models usually have a compass bezel, this is a much better option. I'd love to have one.
Oh, 8) collection too.
Sagarmatha. Yeah, and if you learned to spell it right it will be even better. :lol:Originally Posted by Jay
I came across them when I was doing my Seiko sports research. Terrific piece of kit.
What you need now is a Naomi Uemura. :P

I love those Landmasters and that is one of the nicest. I'm always on the look out for one but never seem to spot one when I have funds available
Great watch congrats. Love that green dial
Mark
Lovely watches I missed out on one back along and am still kicking myself.
Only just seen this Jay - you jammy bugger
Nicely done. Ever since I saw one posted here I have always admired the look of the Landmaster.
I really need to see that :thumbleft:
Hands up, i'll go to the back of the class :lol:Originally Posted by abraxas
Not sure about the Naomi Uemura I have to admit, looks a bit too bright and polished. Will have to look into it a bit more, albeit with only 700 pieces it's a bit rare
Thank you all for the kind comments. :)
Cheers Peter  Glad it came through in the end :) Will bring it along to the next GTG.Originally Posted by PeterM
Thanks Murdoc. The GS wears very well although yes, it's fairly big, but it's not too tall and has lugs that curve past the case back so it sits very very well on the wrist. This is the ti version so is not top heavy.Originally Posted by Murdoc
I've posted a fair bit about it, if you search my posts for Grand Seiko you'll find them but amongst others:

Jay, have you seen this? Some amazing pics (check the slideshow). Not too keen on the reviews tho.

Ok, really liking the the Landmaster until I saw the GS! That's nice!
John, hadn't seen that, but those are possibly the best photos of the 031 that I've seen. Whilst it is better in the flesh those really do do it justice.Originally Posted by abraxas
Kind of agree on the review, it talks generally and doesn't focus enough on in particular the detail. But the photos sell it there!
