It's a lovely watch, I liked it when I saw pictures but for me it's just too big. I like the styling and the obvious retro vibe, but it needed to be significantly smaller for me to be interested. If it was 36mm and slimmer it would be v. appealing, but I always end up comparing watches like this to the vintage stuff at 34-35mm and the vintage always wins. My wrists are 6.75" and square, I can`t wear big watches and that rules a lot of modern stuff out.
Here's my 1970 166.032, approx. 36.5mm so it's big for the era. Notice the similarity in the lugs! This one fits me nicely, ideal size for a watch in this style.

Although "only" 39mm it is a big watch - definitely nothing retro about its presence on the wrist. I've had a 40.5mm Seiko as my daily the last 12 months, and this feels bigger - straight lugs add so much to a watch's presence, it's right at my limit. I used to think I could equally wear the white dial, but now I've got this, I realise that I couldn't.
I thought it was 39mm, if it was 36 I’d probably own one, I really fancy another blue-dialled steel watch and this us a nice one.
- from memory 34mm

Here's the same SMP 300 2255.80 now - received back from walkerwek1958 last week after a service.
The watch looks stunning (like brand new) & is running at +2 secs over the last 5 days!
Paul really has done an excellent job on the watch & also helped me out with the 2254.50 black insert bezel that is now fitted to the watch - can't recommend his work / service highly enough, so big thanks to him.

My first Omega is inbound, very excited to get to know the 2254. I bought my brother a Speedy and had the pleasure of wearing it for a month before his birthday....

Newly picked up. Bought to replace a Tudor Pelagos LHD which I loved aesthetically, but couldn't live with in the metal due to its sheer bulk.
First impressions are - lovely, it disappears into the background and is very comfortable. I need a half link to size the bracelet down a touch so it's on straps for the time being.

Nice one that came my way recently. (Dealer’s pic, not mine. There’s no way I could get that two tone of the steel dial.)
Wow. That’s a beauty! Congrats.

These photos really have me wanting to try on an older PO. I'm just about convinced to chop in my Datejust for a diver, and it's currently the bb58 at the top of the list, but every time I see an episode of top gear or grand tour with geremy in his PO, or the photos above, I get mighty tempted!
