Making me want to swap out the bezel in my tuna for a black one. Anyone know a good source to get a black bezel and how hard or easy it is to change?

    Many thanks

Yobokies for the bezel insert. They are not hard to change but you will damage the one you are removing. You need a good silicon cement on the new bezel insert, divers wet suit repair is good.

Did you notch the strap to make it fit ? I'd love to try one, but a bit nervous about attacking an expensive strap.

Just been through this thread again & despite selling my tuna as didn't feel it suited me, I have the urge for another.

I know from posts over the years that I am not alone how does this forum, or love if watches create this level of retrial?

Black bezel looks great on them.

have just posted the pic in another thread but here it is again.

vintage golden tuna from 1978. I especially like these due to the Titanium shroud, they just seem a little tougher than the modern ceramic shrouds.

It came notched. I got it in a trade. It was already notched. Mine was pretty much unworn. The strap is the best I've ever come across and I've had dozens. The buckle takes some getting used to. The annoying thing is you cannot fit the strap through the buckle while on your wrist. You have to put the watch on with the strap slightly fed through, so if you are going to order one make sure you buy it long enough.
They are a lot of money new but easily the best strap for a Tuna, I cannot see me using the bracelet or anything else again!

I took some photographs of the strap to show you which I'll post while putting the strap back on it tore at the buckle! Gutted

Those marks weren't there when I sold you the watch ;-)

Stop posting pictures, considering trying another one....thinking the 017 this time, expensive hobby without having discovered this place!

She gets plenty of wear, love the 0015. I've considered the Darth but strap changing is difficult on that beast. I knew you would comeback to Tuna's nothing quite like them. Fixed the strap and ordered replacement.

I really love the looks and the specs of the Tuna, but I don't see myself getting one, due to their huge size. Recently I tried the new baby tuna and it was really nice, but still I prefer the dots on the dial of the original design Tunas.

  24. #274
Here is mine it a 7549-7009 golden Tuna. Does anyone know how to date them? The serial number is 850288.
    Cheers

Could be an early May 1978
I'd think it would be one of the 1st 600m 7549's

Well just ordered an 017 to try a slightly different option, outside of creation, supply was pretty limited.

Now currently trying to decide which bracelet & where to get one from.

Thinking strapcode engineer but unsure on blasted or brushed, let alone which clasp for it!

Awesome pair. I got a 6159 Tuna back from Duncan a couple of weeks ago and it feels like I got a new watch :-)

Cheers mariod. Been looking at your pics, you have an amazing collection of Tunas!

These two are in safe hands also (with Duncan), looking forward to wearing them.
