I'd have thought 200 - 300 quids for this, it's certainly what they have been going for.

So who grabbed it? :lol:Originally Posted by Gunscrossed

I must admit I've lost track of how many different ways "Smiths" had of writing their own name. They seemed to change the logo / way it was written on every dial.
You are obviously buying into your "history" Eddie.
Are you going to set up a museum like Patek?
Joking aside I know the seller of that watch and he is Smiths mad as well, I've sold him a few rarer ones over the years.
He does know his stuff and is a proper repairer.
I assume you have seen his website?
Cheers,
Neil.
Am I wrong in thinking that it looks generic?Originally Posted by SimonK

I agree John, the diver with the English movement was a much better buy imo, well done Eddie!Originally Posted by abraxas

And just a little reminder of the Smiths diver (style) in my humble collection
I like both of those a lot. I haven't seen Smiths chronos before, somehow.
That is fabulous. Unusual subdial placement; anyone know what the movement is?Originally Posted by Broussard

Well, I agree with the other poster. I think that's terrific. I'd love to have one like that...it's beautiful and not at all "usual". The proportions are excellent.Originally Posted by Broussard
Going by the subdial placement I would guess at one of those pin pallet faux chrono's (Cimier, O&W etc) but having a date ??.....Originally Posted by andrew

It's a true chrono - fifteen minute sub-dial top left. Constant seconds. Base metal case / caseback with chromed case. Thick, domed plexi. The start / stop and reset pushers are inverted (the bottom pusher starts / stops). Not had the back off it tbh.Originally Posted by Neil.C
Some kind of Landeron maybe?Originally Posted by Broussard
BTW what sort of WIS are you?
Not had the back off ?
For shame!

Very nice, I'm a sucker for that case style and the subdials shape is also a favorite of mine, very 70's. My Clebar has the same subdial shapes one of the reasons that I like it so much. Great contrasting colors between the subdials and dial and a hint of red on the second hand finishes it off great. Just wondering does the lume still glow?Originally Posted by Broussard
That would be a great watch to send to Eddie for a re-issue.

Simple answer. I'm not a WIS.Originally Posted by Neil.C

Yeah. Not sure why anyone would want to be called an idiot. And it's insulting to savants. I prefer watchnerd. :D
