Anyone tell me when the Benrus Type 2 class A was introduced

I am not sure about actual production figures, but the earliest version of mil-spec Mil-M-50717 is from April 1969, already specifying both types I and II and classes A and B for both. The mil-spec was officially canceled in 1984.

Please note that both types were for "submersible and navigation" purposes.

Wow, thats that was quick!, I haven't seen many type 2 with early dates, I've just bought a 'project' type 2 with some spares.
Who's the best guy at restoring these?
