    Great aren't they?

A date on the 14 & 18 would be welcomed by many I feel.

    Big Fan.

Turning the hands past one o'clock turns the date wheel under the dail. Always makes me think of making a hole like the PRS-17 has.

But then the dial is perfect without date.

Maybe it is not the watch but me that has to be modified always wanting a date on a watch.

If the 14 had a date I probably would have gotten it. My PRS-18A very much satisfies the no date need. I love being able to change straps for different looks with the 18 and also really enjoying the canvas - SAND is beautiful.

As much as I depend upon a date, I don't know if I'd want to change this model. If it were to have a date, I'd like to see it done the same as the PRS-3.

This watch has probably traveled with me more than any other I own. Definitely a fan club member. Thanks for an excuse to post another picture of it.

Does this apply to the PRS18A? I've tried turning the crown in position 2 (1 being winding, 3 being time setting) but nothing happens, as if the date wheel has been removed. Also there is no faint click of the date wheel turning over at midnight, or any other time as far as I could hear.
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

The 18-Q has a date wheel.

Can remember a post about the presence and/or absence of the date wheel in the 18-Q and 18-A.

    Found it:

Practically I can understand and can't really argue with that. But aesthetically? No, no and no! It looks much better without the date. And day? - The horror, the horror...

    Re: PRS18 fanclub

I'm a massive fan of it. I don't dive (maybe some day...) but I do a bit of sailing, and it's my absolute watch of choice for that sort of environment, usually worn over my outer layer on a Nato. Solid as a rock, top-notch lume and my only real concern is that if I clout it against the boat, I might damage the boat. If there's a better watch for a demanding environment for anything like the price, I've yet to see it.

I think the dial is too small for the day but the date could be managed easily enough. And more readably than the original PRS-3 and the Speedbird III which is sunken and often hidden. The date on the 17C is easily readable.

Many-many-many moons ago, long before the PRS-18 even existed, I was matching cars to watches ... if Smiths was the Land Rover of watches, then the Precista Diver was the Dredd Land.

The PRS18A is my favourite watch. Here in play-mode garb.

Is it just me who thinks that the Benarus World Diver GMT is a large version of the watch in question? Although 45mm is too much. Around 42mm would have been better.

I knew this was going to be THE WATCH when I first laid eyes on it back in í99.

Precista British Military Dive Watch - Review by H. Seung (November, 1999)
    http://www.50717.com/british/precista.html

My first one was bought straight off my wrist, on its second outing but I didn't think much of it at the time. Lately Iíve been alternating this one with the 39mm Smiths and it already has had two comments which I brushed off with the minimum of input, as there are no more to be had.

On a black Nato with black hardware it looks the 8) Ö and itís ten times better made than the old (quartz) bucket Southerns were dishing out. To call it a grail would be an underestimation. The most fun part is that ... it's my cheapest watch.

18q first one of eddies watches i got and will never part with. Perfect for wet use and with a 10 year battery life so no need to pressure test for a long time.

maybe they do! all a bit academic really as they dont come up often - and if they did at that price, it wouldnt last long. ive got an 18q, i wouldnt sell it for less than 150 / not that i would sell, im just trying to explain my rationale for the 'guide price ' i gave for the 18a
