Elf is the German number for 11. And in Europe we call a 911 an Elfer 😎

Well, got my 11 year old Civic Type S back from the garage earlier. Had it in for it's MOT which for the first time in my stewardship needed some work done to pass - two bulbs.
I was thinking of changing cars this year but with this kind of trouble free motoring I may just hold off on it for another year.

Just ordered a Q3, mainly for the wife, need to now find myself something. Used run around for the family though, I like the Saab 9-3 estates but I'm not sure yet.

Saab 9-3X 1.9 TTID is my recommendation. My mother had one as a slightly smaller alternative to an A6 Allroad. She loved the Saab and my recollection of it is roomy, comfortable, quiet and pretty economical. Plenty of power and the 1.9 diesel unit is a Fiat/Chrysler engine used in all manner of vehicles (Alfa, Fiat, Opels, Suzuki's etc.) so should be easy to find parts for should anything go wrong.

I bought this 964 C2 manual cab from a friend earlier this week.
It left the factory in 1990 and has only 54,000 genuine miles on the clock.
It may be a short term flip so could show up on Sales Corner at some point in the future-
Do cars ever sell on SC?

Just added a Golf GT TDi to the fleet.

The T4 has been fully restored, lots of welding was done.

Still driving the E92 330i but may sell it soon.

2013 MK7 VW Golf 1.2 Tsi. I live in London so I can never go beyond 40mph so it serves its purpose. Very economical too even as an auto.

That's very kind. I've a 981 Boxster that I picked up a couple of months back and the workhorse is a Discovery.

The Boxster looks huge next to the dinky 911. I should really do a quick photo shoot with both - 42 years between them!

I parked my pre-73 beside my (now-gone) 991 and it illustrated how much the 911 has grown over the 50-years. When you don't seem them parked beside one another, it is easy to assume the growth has been mild but it looked like the 991 had been gorging at the all you can eat buffet, for 50-years, when parked in close proximity.

In fairness, even my wife's Fiat 500 looks bloated next to the 911!

It would be interesting to see which of the evolved, or revived, cars has grown the least:-

    Old Mini vs BMW Mini
Original Fiat 500 vs modern 500
    1964 911 vs 2016 911
    etc

Went for the 3 litre diesel and so doing about 36mpg in the short time I have had it. I expect that to improve to around 40 once I settle down (still seeing what it can do)

Power wise, it feels more powerful than my 5 which was also 3l D and certainly has more torque

I thin the Fiat 500 Ron Arad edition had the original 500 painted onto the exterior. It was considerably smaller at birth!

Pleased to oblige but I hope it doesn't disappoint. It's a Californian 1970 911T, imported a couple of years back. The previous owner was apparently inspired by the West Coast R-Gruppe Hotrod scene and it clearly owes a lot to Magnus Walker's 68R. It's been lowered and the silver is a matt wrap. The 2.2 engine hasn't had anything much done to it but is strong and pulls great. Cosmetically, there is work to do (I've just fitted a period radio and tidied up the door cards and back shelf but it's a bit of fun and will never be perfect.

These are some of the sales pics as the weather's been too poo for me to get out and take my own.

Really lovely. I'm a very big fan of these. Congratulations.

That's superb, and thanks for responding.

A "proper" 911. I'd have that any day over one of the bloated pastiches of recent years.

It's a 993 from 1995. RWD and an aircooled flat six (3.6 litre). Nice mix of old and new.

It's a 540c guys. Will be a daily other than for tip/supermarket runs etc, naturally. Yes, picked it up for Glasgow this morning. Still grinning.

Lovely. Strangely, I'm yet to see a review of the 540c but it looks like a supercar bargain. Is this one of the first?
