There you go then, no wonder its quicker than my Fiesta!

  7. #2657
Picked this up 5:30 yesterday evening by 12 noon today it was back at the dealership.

Both rear and osf brake discs horrifically scored and it's only done 12 miles!! Tyre pressures were still set to transportation settings and vast majority of transit protection still left in places on the inside(dark when picked it up last night)

They're trying to convince me it was pdi'd- I think I know otherwise!

Only waited for 3 months so I suppose another few days wont make much difference however this time my missus is moaning even more.FML!

If the Disco Sport was bigger in the back I would have gone for one. The Disco 4 is way to big for my needs, I don't have Range Rover money and the Evoque is too small. When we go away we always take both the dogs so need atleast 42 inches across the back for the crate, this does it with loads to spare.

Folk seem to think the Disco 4 is bigger than it really is. My Disco's footprint is considerably smaller than it's BMW 6 series predecessor. It really isn't very long and, although wide, it's not excessive. The height and slab sides give the impression of a bigger car, as well as providing it with a cavernous interior. Love mine.

I think FFF knows exactly how big Disco 4s are!

But I agree, they aren't as big on the outside as they are on the inside. My old F10 BMW seemed wider externally, but struggled with 3 car seats across the back. Not a problem in the Disco! I love mine too, they are ace.

Is the chrome strip missing from the door? ( bottom of window) ? It looks odd compared to rear etc,

Hats off to you for noticing it!

It wasn't missing, there's a protective rubber cover over it that the valaters didn't remove!

I noticed it today when driving down the motorway, it's more obvious from the door mirror, they were about to get the car shoved up them until I realised it pulled off!

A comment in another thread reminded me that I have this 'sports' car mothballed in a friends garage in the UK. It has quite a history, having been registered in Australia, the UK, Switzerland, and the UK again (the latter two in my name). A workhorse, and a tad thirsty, but it starts and runs reliably after months off the road.

    Thanks - will do.

Even though I took it for a test drive and drove it in e-mode, I found it really eerie again this morning just moving it around on the drive. No noise is just weird.

I've been in a friends i3 a few times, it is quite surreal. I do prefer the Golfs normal looks over the quirky i3.

Practical car is a Mini Countryman Cooper S
Fun car is the ubiquitous Mazda MX5 1.8 VT Sport (Mk2.5)

At my price point in the market place I couldn't be happier with these two motors, they tick all my boxes.

First drive fully charged tonight. Range showing as 30 miles. I got about 11! Ok the lights were on and the radio but that was disappointing.

However it goes like a rocket. Gte mode is brilliant.

Welcome to the world of electric motoring!
If the golf is anything like the Leaf, the radio and lights run off a separate battery but the heater eats range.
The mileage indicator isn't known as the guessometer for nothing.
Electric range generally increases in warm, dry weather and reduces in cold, wet or windy conditions.
Your next step will be figuring out how to afford a Tesla!

I love the tesla and looked at the suv before going down the company car route although it's next year before it's due. The saloon is a lovely motor.

I'd read about the figures being ott but last night surprised me. However it was still 11 miles on no fuel and the performance was excellent. Going to drive to work today without the lights on although will be using the radio. Didn't realise the weather made a difference though.

The model X won't be arriving here until late next year at the earliest and they'll be quite a waiting list by then.
I'm expecting there to be more genuine 200 mile range cars available before then, most likely a 60kwh Leaf and possibly the large Kia.
I'd love to see an all electric C or E class with twice the battery capacity of the B but that's just my preference!

2014 Cayman for me, didn't bother with the S as need it as a daily.

Lovely revy engine and surprisingly economical, trip to France the other month returned 530miles to a tank and 38mpg !!! Not bad for a 270bhp car. And it gobbles up luggage.

Got this a month ago, a hybrid Golf GTE

    Having it's first feed

Great drive and brilliant in GTE mode and performance is great in both electric and hybrid. But VERY disappointing economy. I'm averaging about 40mpg which is rubbish considering its a 1.4 hybrid.

Really impressed overall but had I bought it myself (it's a company car) I may be less impressed.

This Boxster, in 'triple black' guise. It is my weekend/fun car. I have a boring (but brand new) diesel eco company car for other duties.
