Was it Britemax's Metal Twins that you tried? Big fan of their products, though I'm yet to try those two.

I don't think Iron X will work as it's not iron fallout, I'm going to try a dedicated stainless steel cleaner or maybe some carb cleaner (in a bag, like your method) to see if that will shift it. Britemax's Metal Twins did a grand job the first time I used it but the tips hadn't had lots of baked on carbon deposits by then.

Traded my my Golf 6 2.0 TDI SE for a Golf 7 2.0 TDI GT a couple of years ago.

It's quick enough for me, got some nice toys and giving c.60 mpg overall, shall probably keep this one for a bit.

Slightly OT but thought this would be best place to put it....it's been doing the rounds on social media but for those who haven't seen it it's a place where jay Leno may be content...

Judging by the people posting here and their car love I think this could be our ideal home....somehow I suspect majority of wives may disagree though....

My house is just like that. A 1 room office centred around a 2 car garage.

Only the garage is full of crap and the garden contains a 5 bed winterised stone built shed.

This is currently off the road while I sort the accumulated odds and sods that inevitably occur after 180,000 miles.

    So Im currently driving

Im so stuck in the last century. Think a Delta Integrale has to be on the shopping list...

Unfortunately I wasn't that lucky, no points, just £100 fine. He took offence to my 3/4 sized front number plate

Well it's technically illegal, but you'd think traffic cops would have much better things to do!

After 10 months in the bodyshop I've just got my GT4 back. The bodyshop presented me with a bucket full of rust & filler that had come off the car! Wheel arches, sills, front wing bottoms, door bottoms all cut out and replaced with new metal.

Added a four seater to the collection today & it makes me feel older than I am.

Having a collection of all 2 seaters doesn't make it helpful when you want to take the kids out!

Unfortunately it's one of those things that tend to really bug the Police, as a non conforming VRM plate can affect the ability of ANPR etc. Surprised you got a ticket though, often a Vehicle Defect Rectification Notice will suffice.

That's the problem with rats, anally retentive.

I love that, they are so much classier than the 2-door version!

An unusually excellent weekend saw me driving these:

The DB9 was a pussycat, the R8 (V10) was rapid, the Gallardo was (ahem) VERY sporty but the GT-R was brutal!

I'm still shaking after the two passenger laps in the Ariel Atom!

By comparison my normal ride feels a bit pedestrian:

    "Only" 279 BHP

Much more usable on our camera surveilled, pothole infested roads though.

    Cheers,

    MarkC

    Update for me:

Upgraded to a new BMW 335d (post facelift).

Terrific car it is. Sadly it's now back at BMW having an electrical fault fixed, so no current pictures.

Quite a substantial upgrade on my 62 plate 330d, electrical fault notwithstanding.

Abarth 500 great little car, for day to day. Going to get a new 595 Competizione when the latest model comes out early next year, with the new spec interior etc.

How do you find the Xdrive? Im currently looking at a new 330d wanted a 335d but I'm leaning towards RWD over the Xdrive not a huge fan of the increased ride height and less feel.

Just been relieved of my company Prius and replaced it with this. Wouldn't have anything but a hybrid now.

Much improved on the facelift, they reckon. I didn't get to try the older one, so can't compare.

I deliberately downgraded the alloys to 16" and find it fine. On par with the Prius, perhaps slightly better.

I just could not find a classic 911 to suit my requirements, so on the rebound (via another Lotus, which I have now discounted) I ordered one of these babies for April 2016 delivery. Will be a long winter!

Just got back from Ingliston Revival, rain was a downer, but it cleared up.... kinda regret not choosing to get the 32 on track, but no doubt it would have been fairly sketchy putting the power down in the wet.

OH has convinced me that an F-Type Coupe is a goer, got a decent tour of one today, think I'll have to upgrade the 550-600bhp McDonalds Special.
