Need something for the wife to cover high mileage trips but also to accommodate the dogs. I get to drive it at weekends (weather permitting)

2 years old and just hit 104,000 miles on the clock

If its snowing or we are off across the fields then this.

2007 and 51,000, and mint for the year. I got a true bargain via a mate in the trade. Now the C63 has arrived, I shall be moving the SL on for a tad more than that as the market price looks somewhat more for a similar car.

She had red indicators, but in US spec.
I had to change the lamps, before registering in EU.

I know that Carrera S should have red, like the Turbo, but orange looks better IMO :)

Now she is lowered a bit, like EU models.

Well, as of next weekend, we'll be picking up our new weekend car. No prizes for guessing where we bought it from, i.e. forgive the library photos.

Thank you. What was odd was, having made an appointment to see it on Saturday, I noticed an article in the new issue of Classic Cars which came out on Friday that compared the 928 with several other eighties cars and the 928 they featured was the one we bought - spooky coincidence. Not looking forward to the fuel bills though

Beautiful car, I've always fancied one of those but even when they were available for peanuts the fuel costs put me off!

Cheers. It certainly won't be as economical as the everyday diesels we drive but then again, I don't anticipate more than 2-3,000 miles per year at most.

Just treat the other half to this for her birthday. She fancied the Fiat 500 but there was no way I was ever going to drive one of those. Quite skeptical about the reviews regarding the fun factor but I can't stop pinching the keys................what a hoot to drive.

    What do you drive?

    Plastic car from Norfolk.

Have you had it long? How do you like it? I have the original Elan, but have often been tempted by an M100. Green really suits it.

I've had it a fair few years now (got the repair bills to prove it). It's a great driver's car, with a power to weight ratio that puts a smile on your face every time you blip the turbo joining the motorway. The handling is the best of any car I've ever driven, especially on winding Cornish roads where it seems entirely at home.

The Japanese engine and drivetrain never go wrong, but everything else constantly breaks, falls off, leaks, comes loose, or, on one memorable occasion, catches fire.

I'd love to drive the 60s car, what's that like?

Every word you said could be applied to my car (it's a '67 Elan Coupe S/E, but I've had the engine built to give 145bhp, so it'll keep up with an Elise), except the drivetrain also goes wrong! It's a fabulous car, but needs constant maintenance.

I really want a more modern classic Lotus for the days when a '60s car isn't appropriate, so a Mk1 Elise or the M100 Elan have been on the list for a while. But I spent so much money on the Elan last year that I've had a hard time justifying another "fun" car.

You probably know there's an M100 forum:

    http://forum.lotuselancentral.com/index.php

You have to be careful with forums though as they tend to end up making you spend money on things...

Very nice, the steering wheel looks great - is it the RS?

  37. #1637
The car is a C2 manual.
The standard steering wheels on 993's were considered by some to be a bit 'puny' so many owners installed these beefier black Porsche
steering wheels as did the previous owner of my car....I don't know the exact Porsche model reference for such a steering wheel.

To be honest I would rather mine had been left with the original steering wheel because it's a pain in the arse MOT time-
evidently if a car left the factory with an airbag it now has to still have the airbag to pass the MOT and these sportier black Porsche
steering wheels (unlike the original 993 steering wheels) don't have an airbag.
My closest OPC wanted £750 plus labour to install an original airbag steering wheel just to pass the MOT- luckily another garage was more forgiving.

Had my lexus isf tarted up a bit. Calipers painted blue, wheels refurbished, windows tinted and some panels resprayed. Also had car back system fitted by hayward and scott. Cleaned my gsxr 750 k6 at the same time so took some photos.

Cheeky sound clip at the end.

My daily driver owned this for a year and to be honest don't really use this has been sorn since august due to being at University had to change the turbo and bottom end not long after owning it so want to get a bit of use out of it before I sell it!

Project car pick this up tomorrow gave £140 for it not 100% sure what I am going to do with it yet...

Future plans are to flog the golf in 12 month and replace it with something like a 335i or maybe a Z4 3.0 SI Coupe basically something around the £10 - £12k mark as finish Uni in a month and have a graduate job secured so will be able to afford something more decent!

Just seen this. Are you still using run flat tyres? I think cracked alloys are a common problem with e90 3 series BMWs with the run flat tyres fitted.

The previous owner of my e91 330d had to replace 2 cracked rear alloys and fix the resulting damage to the suspension. I've now replaced all 4 run flats with normal tyres and it's so much nicer to drive - less crashy and no tram lining. I just have a can of puncture repair foam in the boot.

Nice ... The ISF / GSXR combo is fantastic ....

And never seen an SLS in red ... looks awesome .....

    For me ....

My cars are quite mundane currently:

We have a Scirocco 2.0 TSFI and a Mini Cooper Convertible...

    Bikes are more interesting :)

    Ducati Multistrada, 996 and 999R .....

Well, the collection was delayed by a week but on Saturday, finally got the new toy home. Very chuffed.

That looks nice. Has it been restored, or is it original? If it's original, it looks as though it's led a pampered life.

    Any more details or photos?

Thanks. The car is original and has done 75,000 miles in over 21 years. It was one of the very last S4s (they officially ended production during 1992 but this was registered Feb 93). Full service history, cam belt and water pump just changed and air conditioning working fully (a common fault on these). I'll try to remember to take a few more snaps when I get the car out for a polish on Saturday. The wife and I were looking at better ways to enjoy some share money and I just have a feeling that the 928s are undervalued at the moment. If it goes up in value over the next few years, great - if not, we'd have enjoyed a few miles in something a bit different.
